There is a better scenario for LSU where Sloan remains as the QB Coach, and LSU brings in a OC play caller. Sloan is an excellent recruiter and QB developer.

i agree, not sure he would take a demotion though. perhaps he remains as co-oc in name only. but then you have hankton to sort out.

Sloan will be Louisiana Tech’s top target in a couple of weeks. His wife is a Tech grad and they apparently still own a house in Ruston (Squire Creek)

Doesn’t Sloan make north of $2 million a year as co-OC? That would be an expensive QB coach. Then hire a true OC and definitely a special teams coach. Are we flushed with cash?

I just…idk. That’s becoming a difficult job with a small fan base and NIL. As a former 318’er I’ve always been surprised at the lack of interest from alums-a pretty successful alumni base at that.

Thats a fan fiction scenario tbh
A young guy like him would most likely “pursue other opportunities” than take a demotion.
Definitely keep an eye on La Tech and see what happens.

Also tech would be a pay reduction. Tech is in a terrible place right now. They are in the worst conference in the country. Have a terrible tv deal. Tech’s “pride” about not wanting to be in a conference with ULM has cost them. There is a reason all the good teams from CUSA have left the conference. Now they are hopping a spot opens up in the sunbelt

I’m an lsu grad but have lived in Monroe for years. Tech looks down on ulm. Why I don’t know
