My daughter (5, no pics) loves me so much she drew me a picture. Her pen, a screwdriver. Her canvas, the rear fenders on my truck. Gonna cost me between $250-$1,000 to fix.

What stupid, expensive nonsense have your kids been up to?

Is it a cute picture? If it is, I'd honestly consider leaving it.

You don’t know what your deductible is?

It’s a comp claim and won’t raise your insurance rates so you might as well claim it.

Edit: assuming you have a major carrier like State Farm, USAA, GEICO, Nationwide, or Liberty Mutual.

A banana duct taped to a wall sold for $5.2M recently. You might just want to reframe this as art and profit.

I'd almost be inclined to leave it for awhile.

When I was 5 , my dad painted one of his trucks. I thought I’d help out and painted white house paint over his fresh black paint.

My GSP got it in his head that a squirrel ran under my truck and it was still in the truck. He proceeded to spend the next hour jumping all over it scratching it to hell and back.

My son (17) was apparently so excited about eating Cane's he forgot to chew enough and got pretty much a whole tender lodged in his esophagus.
$5 K out of pocket after all was said and done and a night in the hospital.

I bet you've never been so happy to have a story like this once it was all said and done.

My son and his cousin wanted to take the golf cart for a spin in the neighborhood. Cousin is 16 at the time and I thought he was going to be the driver.

No...somehow, my 8 year old convinced him that he knew how to drive it so his cousin let him drive.

My son, at full speed, reverses the golf cart right into the back of my neighbors car across the street causing significant damage. Cost us thousands to repair their vehicle.

I wore my son's arse out that night

Throw a little rattle-can automotive clear on it, lightly scuff it with some 600 first, 2 -3 light coats, let dry for 24 hours in the sun.
Gently buff, and you'll have it as long as you have the truck.

You'll be glad you did.

One kid pulled in for gas and drove my Silverado into one of those poles that protect the pumps and totaled the truck. Other kid was learning to drive and while attempting to park in the driveway, hit the gas instead of the brake and drove my Jeep Wrangler through the garage door. Other than that, they do all kinds of dumb stuff along the way that drain the bank account.
