Can Nuss do what JD and Burrow did? The second season

No one likes to talk about burrow and Daniels first years, but this is basically Nuss’ equivalent if he comeback.
Can he do what they did?

No chance.

Probably not.
He's not nearly as mobile as either of the two and is more reckless in his decision making.

Time to move on the the younger Tigers

Yes. Add 10 lbs and do some speed training and leg work

We see glimpses of it for sure. Needs to do whatever they did to put in the extra work

Posted in another thread, as well, but didn't Daniels and Burrow have the advantage of being early college graduates and could focus majority of their time on football and becoming better QBs?
Is Nuss on track to graduate on time or early?

He’s been there 4 years + Summers now. Has to have graduated or will this Fall right?

His supporting cast needs improvement if he is going to do that

There is a chance. Most people will say no. He’s as int prone as JD was “not throwing it at all” prone. I was always one to give JD year 2. I think nuss will be much better with a year of competition under his belt, IF we can assemble an O line and have a run game. Not many qb’s are going to be successful having to shoulder the load almost very game. Yes his decision making must improve. But if JD can go from Uber conservative to gun slinger dropping dimes I think Nuss can make a big leap next year. Hopefully he’s fully healthy.

No unless he starts running (forward) as an option to pick up first downs.

He is not getting to rise to their level, but its also fair to say he was more accomplished in his first yr as starter here than they were. If he makes just some basic improvements along with simple experience, he will definitely be better, and possibly really special.

Improve? Certainly. Win the Heisman? That’s a big stretch, but if they improve the talent around him who knows.

He may not get to their level, but he doesn't have to for this to be a great team. He's shown glimpses of it (the dime to Anderson that was overturned) and whatever they worked on this week had him more confident to step up in the pocket and pass under pressure.

He will be better next year. I’d bet any amount of money on that assuming he stays healthy

Yes but we're gonna need an act of God and probably have to sacrifice a virgin

If you mean...can he improve a lot between his first and second year starting? Yes, absolutely.
If you mean, can he account for 5000+ yards and 50+ TDs? Well, maybe.
That'll depend largely on how well the team replaces 4 or 5 starters on the OL, is Sloan still calling plays or someone new, and will he have anything remotely close to Chase/Jefferson or Nabors/Thomas Jr. level receivers at his disposal.

Of course he can. He’s got talent, just needs to work on decision making and we need better talent around him.
Any qb should make a huge improvement after getting a year of starting under his belt.
