Coach O put together the "Greatest College Team of ALL TIME"....so, how did we get here?

Never forget that.
Covid strikes, players opt out. LSU can't replace the NFL talent fast enough and the bottom dropped out.
It was then that N. Louisiana LSU boosters forced Coach O out. They never liked him, didn't like his accent, didn't like how he represented LSU, didn't like how Louisiana was being represented.
So, what have does LSU have now? Is there a championship team on the horizon? Doesn't appear to be. Are fundamentals still not being properly addressed?
LSU won it's last National Championship with a transfer QB. Losing a player who is smart to cash in but has no loyalty, is no loss at all.
Nussmeir stayed at LSU. Remained loyal to LSU. Waited to play for LSU.
Has been let down by playcalling and poor O line play at LSU.
Brian Kelly will be given at least two more years to make things right. I don't see him getting the job done. It's a shame. Best facilities. Best fans. Best local talent. Sub-par leadership from the Head Coach.

What?
That’s what got him?
I thought it was hot girlfriends wrecking practices and him losing his drive.

Because at bottom, coach O is a loser.

Ask Coach O. 90% of this is his doing.

So now it's north Louisiana's fault lol?
If you want the gods honest truth- if O bent his knee the way Saban did and embraced the BLM movement then Tyler Shelvin, Kary Vincent and Jamar Chase never opt out. He likely wins 8 games and if Myles Brennan doesn't go fishing that day they probably win 8-9 the following year as well.
Orgeron panicked and started making irrational moves.
He lost and he deserved to go and Kelly looked like a solid hire. Objectively he's better than the alternative that we wanted (Lincoln Riley) but it's crashed and burned and Woodward left us absolutely no way out.

Never before has someone fallen more arse-backwards into ultimate success.
Accept it and enjoy it for what it is.

He was the head coach of the best team in LSU history. Was Orgeron heavily involved in offensive and defensive schemes? The answer is, No. Orgeron was always a ticking time bomb. As soon as he was financially secure, he reverted to being an idiot. He pretty much abandoned and ruined the program after the championship.

NIL and the transfer portal.

Man shut the frick up with this bullshite. Orgeron was fired because he was a fricking meathead shitbag and a terrible coach.
If he stayed the program is probably Mississippi St. level right now.

People here won't admit it, but LSU would have been better off keeping O given what we know now, especially factoring in the financial part now.
We could have gotten rid of O after a few more years with no buyout and got Dan Lanning or another up and comer. Instead we have a decrepit rusted boat anchor on the program for the next 7 years.

Once the brain trust from previous regime deserted him, he had no clue how to maintain a top program.
Inspirational blabber and cheerleading doesn't get far in the SEC.

Coach O got us here

A National Champion, multi millionaire, fricking younger chicks, loser.
Then there's you, on a Saturday morning, on a message board, calling him a loser.

+1
He caused most of his problems and was not prepared to handle the other ones. Also, not having an AD worth a frick to intervene or advise couldn't have helped either.

Followed by 38 scholarship players just a couple years later.
You seriously can't be this dumb.

Worst coach in Ole Miss history.
Burreaux made that team.

O put together a great team, but he never built a great roster.
He did not parlay our championship with great recruiting years which left massive holes in the roster.
It was a great year, but when those great players left they were not replaced.

Coach O has been gone for years now.
