It’s the edgy “Eli was just average and isn’t a HOF quality player” bullshite every time this hits a news cycle.

Was he ever a top 5 qb in the league? I think I remember 1 or 2 years, but he was never consistently a top 5 at his position player.

Man he’s really being buoyed by his last name and playing for NYG

Well 85% of the reason for this is his last name, even though his dad is not n.

If he gets in it'll be just for a couple of plays like Lynn Swann.

He sucked in the first Super Bowl, was better in the second but the offense only scored 31 combined points in both and there's no way the rest of his career was HOF worthy.

Lester Hayes is currently not in the HOF (though he may get in next year).
Roger Craig is not in the HOF.
It took 37 years after he retired, and also after he died, for Cliff Branch to be inducted.

But Eli Manning is going to get in already? That’s some crap.

And was nowhere near the level of QB Eli was.. Plunkett was great and the argument can be made for him being in the Hall but he was more Athlete/game manager

If Eli gets in, then those Giants D-Lines should all be in, too.

Those dont hurt, but the 2 superbowls is what will get him in. Same as ben Roethlisberger. He will also get in, but was never close to being the top QB in the league.

2 SB wins over Brady is a nice accomplishment too.

He won two SBs, including one particularly memorable one, but his overall body of work is subpar considering some of the other candidates out there.

I don’t even think he was the best QB in his class, which is Roethlisberger.

This is the statistics nonsense of the modern era overshadowing the actual point of the games which is to win. Eli has a long, productive career and won 2 super bowls vs the greatest dynasty in modern sports history. What he did is much more rare than statistics Phillip Rivers and players like that have put up. Hes definitely a HOFer

So you can have a mediocre career. Win 2 superbowl mainly because of phenomenal defensive play and that gets u in. Got it.

You could say Eli was the 3rd best from that class but all 3 are worthy of being in the Hall. I don’t think Eli is a first ballot guy but he’s definitely worthy and deserving of being in the Hall..

If Trent Dilfer gets in, then I'll be concerned (he won't). Eli getting in doesn't bother me much.
