If we can’t fire Sloan, what can we do to fix the offense for next year?

Listening to some of the stats T-bob mentioned this morning, this offense has been more than terrible that last 3 games. Yards per pass, % of 0 yard plays, PPG, explosive play rate, it’s all in the 100’s nationally. I get nuss isn’t mobile and missed some reads, but at some point a coach should know his rosters strengths and weaknesses and adjust accordingly.
We’re stuck with Sloan as long as he has Underwood, so what can we do to fix the offense next year? Shadow staff with offensive analysts? BK calls the plays and Sloan goes back to more of a QB coach role? Fire Hankton and bring in a new passing game coordinator?

I guess they are planning on Underwood making something happen with his legs if the play breaks down

Move him and Hankton where they should be. Qb Coach and WR coach. Go get an experience play caller.

So this underwood kid is that good? Putting all the eggs in that basket is extremely risky

Hire a consultant as good as Brady.

What other options do we have? Underwood is a high reward option

Options? Well there’s the guys we’ve already recruited or the portal…
BK has no time to waste. Unless underwood is the next jamies Winston or Deshaun watson

I don't think the playcalling has been as bad as some of you make out. Name an offense where you agree with everything they call and ill show you a roster ful of top talent.

It’s very risky with an OL that will most likely have 4 starters missing. Underwood better be very comparable to Jayden in that situation.

feed Durham and supplement Berry and Johnson
develop Green and pimpton
Add a WR from the portal
Insert a qb with legs (underwood) even if just situationally until he takes the keys fulltime

The play-calling has been consistently bad and very predictable. Opposing teams know our tendencies at this point and we've done absolutely nothing to throw them off when they're seeing certain personnel or formations. Obviously, execution should be a hell of a lot better as well, especially regarding the OL

What makes the playcalling predictable is the personnel we use assigned to certain plays. Which is something that definitely should change.

Gotta fix the line. If you can’t run the ball and they get pressure rushing 4 every SEC game is a coin flip.

Kelly could look at bringing in Tom Herman as a WR or TE coach or as an offensive analyst.
Saban was brilliant at rehabbing coaches. Herman has had decent success coaching offense. He may not be good as a head coach, but he could help us fix our playcalling and offensive gameplanning.

Durham and Williams ran for 160 yards against Florida.
Durham . . 20 carries for 91 yards (4.6 ypc)
Williams. . 13 carries for 69 yards (5.3 ypc)
33 carries for 160 yards (4.8 ypc)
Nuss had his lowest YPA of any game this season and his third game with less than 60% Comp%.
Nuss is #11 in the SEC in QB Rating.
Nuss is #9 in the SEC in Comp%.
Underwood fits Kelly's and Sloan's preferred offense. Nuss does not.

upgrade the OL overall.
I yhink our OT play will be worse but if we can get better between the tackles and more disciplined overall we will be in a good spot.
Maybe beg/pay Jones to come back.
Experience is a double edged sword. I don’t believe Frazier and Dillinger are that much more talented than everyone else, but the OL has been together for a while now.

The truth is you never know until you get them into a college game, so nothing is for sure. He is tall and strong, has a great arm and can really run when he takes off. So even if the passing game takes some learning, at least he could fall back on my his athleticism and size by taking off and moving the chains with his feet while taking his lumps. That opens up so many things when a QB can do that.
