I watched it last night.

It got a lot of details right. Some of it was dumb, but overall, I enjoyed it.

Any Landmen care to weigh in?

I haven't watched it yet but i fully expect it to be an evening soap opera like YellowStone.

Was it mostly a dude working a tedious, boring job before going home and eating a bad subway sandwich by himself watching sports in a crappy one bedroom apt in Pecos?

Because per my buddies that's about the extent of it

The first season should be the new landman learning that he’s gotta be best friends with the county clerk and recorder or he’s never gonna make that deadline

I don’t know shite about oilfield/oil business, but I watch shows to be entertained, not judging their accuracy to reality. I thought it has potential. We will see.

My uncle is an old man real estate/ estate planning attorney in a small town.
The county clerks will bend over backwards to help him. Never seen anything like it. They basically do his computer searches for him

Our clerk's office is pretty helpful with stuff like that. OTOH they're also glacially slow. If the judge signs something it might be two weeks before they record it.

The daughter said "We agreed if he doesn't cum in me, then he can cum on me anywhere he wants." To her Dad about her new boyfriend and her plan to avoid pregnancy.

That one was new to me for a television series. Cable TV or not.

I worked for several months at the courthouse in St. Helena parish and their clerks were so passive aggressive they made DMV and TSA staff look helpful.

If the Landman series doesn’t include the following, it’s not realistic:

- 1) driving 2 hours each way to a courthouse in bumfrick nowhere.

- 2) standing around for 9 hours pulling books.

- 3) eating a diet solely comprised of gas station food.

- 4) fielding a call on Friday afternoon from your prospect manager at his cushy office in Lafayette asking you to send him a picture of a plat map at 4:30 because he’s checking to see if you’re really working.

- 5) losing countless hours of sleep because some sheikh farted wrong over the weekend and oil dropped $3 a barrel and now your job might be in jeopardy.

- 6) fighting with your broker who is 87 days behind in sending checks.

- 7) listening to old people and fatties argue about who gets to use the 4 chairs and table in the deed room.

The Landman show was not watchable. First intermission break was 14 commercials long

I'm sure the 1st season will be good , followed by seasons of oil men doing drive by shootings, then someone riding a horse for 5 minutes doing tricks, followed by some terrible accents.

Should have been called oil man seemed to have a lot more of the oil business than my understanding of what a “land man” does. Seemed to have touched on the high/low points of it though.

Seems interesting enough billy bob seems to be nailing it in at some parts. Like others said some of the dialog is just so out there it’s a little cheesy

The man camp and pump jacks bring back memories of a bad time in my life.

I worked in Iraan Texas a couple of years, made me realize I didn’t want that life forever.

Every friend I had that stayed ended up with a broken family or died early.

As a father of an adult daughter, I couldn't imagine my daughter saying that to me. Heck, I now don't even want my daughter watching the show.
