How will Trump make housing more affordable?

People have been complaining for years that home prices are too high. The escalating cost has led to people renting at higher levels. We’ve seen a steady increase in the rental occupancy rate since Biden took over. During trumps 4 prior years, we saw a slight decrease in rental occupancy rates. This suggest an increase in ownership.
Trump has said he will make America more affordable. How does he propose to make homes more affordable?

Improving the economy will lead to higher wages thus making everything more affordable.

1. Promote policies that stimulate the economy
2. Remove upward pressure on housing prices by removing illegals from the country who are getting government bennies for subsidized housing, forcing up prices.

Anything outside of removing restrictions to increase housing supply (which would need to be done at the state/local levels) is doomed to failure.

How many of them are buying houses though?

The folks crossing the border, shortage of housing, food, vehicles, etc. Supply and demand. You can't import that many and not have it effect everything.

It ain’t just houses.
“Housing” means any dwelling, including apartments. And these frickers take up a ton of apartments, hotel rooms, and other dwellings.

This is going to be the most difficult challenge of his administration. The easiest answer is to get Wall Street out of the single family home ownership business.

First one is great but more economic stimulation will likely create an increase in home prices.
Second- huh? Where is this happening?

Regardless how fungible the rental/sales issue is, it still boils down to fundamental supply.

It doesnt matter if they are or arent

You know, when I don't have to compete with millions of illegals for an apartment, house, job........
Since the demand will drop, so will the price. Simple economics

Stabilize housing prices by easy demand.
Make the average person's wage go up
Reduce the cost of owning a home by reducing energy costs, heating costs, and costs tied to general repair.
Then expect some form of attack on corporate entities buying homes to be used as a massive rental block.
Start there and augment as needed...

You saying that illegals are making so much money that they can afford to buy houses which is driving up prices?
I’m not seeing this anywhere.
The illegals fbsf I know about are renting and lots of them live together in groups.

Biggest thing he could do is to pressure Congress to pass the bill they have that will disallow investment firms from buying up all the houses. Blackrock themselves have bought up entire neighborhoods and they are not the only one. These companies outbid everyone and this outbidding artificially inflate home prices.
Make it illegal and make them sell their stock.

Regulations are hidden taxes.
Getting rid of them will go a long way.

Give 20 million illegals the boot. That’ll create some vacancies.

Improving the economy will help.
A bigger mover will be the deportation of millions of illegals. Those houses being rented, in effect, by the government will increase supply thus lowering prices some.

Lowering supply of buyer by deporting them.

I know how NOT to make housing more affordable.....by handing out $25k vouchers to people who can't afford a house. That absolutely would have made things way worse. And with the quickness.
