and he pointed squarely at Kelly and how he leads the program. His demeanor. How he comes off.

in the 1980s and 1990s... Louisiana had guys like Michael Brooks, Michael Calais, Gabe Northern... just to name a few. we need some of that old school toughness in this team because it's lacking.

i get that the game was different, and it seems like we are officiating that out of the game. However, our defense is a shell of what it used to be. we need to find a couple of dudes. guys who can deliver hits and tackle in space 1:1.

If anyone disagrees with any of this, they're idiots.

LSU under Kelly has not had a bruising identity....at all.

Why go back to the 80s and 90s?

LSU has had dawgs throughout the 2000s as well until they turned to baby shite after the 2019 season.

Because the player making the claim was from that era.

I said this last night. As a student, player intros featured All-American talent. We have had 30 different defensive All-Americans since Saban took over the program. Some of those were two time AA. Our last was Stingley. We don’t have the ball-hawking DBs like Peterson, a hard hitting safety like Laron Landry, a do-it-all like Mathieu, or a monster lineman like Dorsey.

We "had" Harold Perkins Jr before injury.

Last year, it seems like House couldn't figure out the best place to put him and teams would scheme away from HP.

Former player is correct. Tv shots showed the Bama players laughing several times in the 2nd half. Laughing at LSU. Embarrassing.

Think it's more an issue of talent acquisition than BK's demeanor.

Also, to a certain point, every defense is less physical now.

Agree 100%. If I saw a rival prancing around my field like that I would have tried my best to hurt someone. They would never do that with any previous LSU coach. They are marshmallow soft

Did your 80s/90s sounding board mention why their era is considered the dark days of LSU football? Those teams had constant off field issues. They lacked even decent leaders - players and coaches.

who in current CFB really does?

We can pick at Kelly for tons of things, but this is just useless, generic garbage "rrrrr they aren't as tough as we were back when LSU football was as mediocre as it is now!"

Perkins had three years to make a reputation for himself. And he didn’t. He didn’t come close to performing in a manner that would cause his name to be included alongside the outstanding LSU players who are being mentioned in this thread.

This team, aside from a few, is really weak. We can’t get off blocks, miss tackles, interior o line gets pushed around. Either a motivational issue or strength and conditioning needs a serious overhaul.

So do most MMA fighters and many other professional athletes. It helps flexibility and can assist to limit soft tissue injuries, like pulled groins, calf muscles, and hamstrings.

May be some truth to this but unless someone has true access to the program and is on the sidelines, there’s no way to really know.

So it sounds like a personnel issue rather than the coach’s demeanor issue.
