Elon musk smartly aligned himself with Trump.
Anyone considering Tesla now?

Probably the best time to get one for cheap off a smug liberal who thinks that boycott will equate to anything other than a temper tantrum.

I kept telling people while they were shitting on Tesla before Elon bought Twitter that they should support the most American made cars in the industry. I’m glad people are coming around and supporting American manufacturing.

I would like one. But it doesn't fit my needs. I have 2 trucks. And I'm not getting rid of either

Yes
I only need a commuter. 20 mile round trip per day. We already have a ICE SUV for roadtrips.
You can get a basic Tesla for like $30k. Either that or a Sentra. I’m taking the Tesla

As a Tesla driver, I’ve gone from tree-hugging prog filth to right-wing facist in about 5 years.

Well, according to people whose opinions don’t matter to me.

the irony of of a bunch of O&G workers pimping the founder of a totally electric vehicle is not lost on me...

wonder if they'll still view him as some sort of savior when they lose their job over decreased demand for their product?

ah well... guess this is the world we live in now...

That’s not happening in any of our lifetimes.

it has happened in our lifetimes... i have quite a few family members who have been furloughed, laid off, etc when oil was down... directional drillers, deckhands, etc...

make no mistake about it.... if there is increased demand for Teslas due to MAGAs new found love for everything Elon, O&G demand domestically decreases.... it's simple supply and demand... more electric vehicles decreases the amount of gas powered vehicles, in turn decreasing the demand for O&G... decreased demand, less profit, companies trim labor costs, people lose jobs... it sucks, but it is what it is

I would consider a hybrid but not a full electric yet. I like to take back roads.

I’ve been a fan of them since the first one I saw rolling down the interstate in the early 2010’s. It’s been an odd swing watching Elon go from right-hated to right-loved, but I’ve been absolutely enamored with everything he’s done since his cameo in Iron Man 2.

I’m not sure I have the time today on Bama gameday to get into a lengthy explanation of commodity pricing dynamics or how O &G is still needed to build and power EVs and it’s just changing the delivery mode of demand while minimally impacting the gross demand.

But the short version is, if we went into an impossible adoption situation you would just see a shift to more focus on natural gas than oil. The market has moved back and forth before so this is nothing new.

Btw I worked in O &G for over a decade, was laid off in the 2014 downturn and diversified my career to be blended with O &G and renewables.

If they are ever able to offer direct sale or lease in Louisiana I will consider one as a daily commuter vehicle

I have no idea how people let politics rule their life so much. And national politics at that. Local politics impact you so much more. It’s so cultish at this point.

Go outside!
Hug someone!
Learn to have empathy!
Get a life!
