Hopefully those hunting have acorns near by.

My trail cam activity has gone way down in the past 10 days.

Mine are of the edge of a green field which they stopped hitting.

Biloxi Marsh

Just caught two man limit of trout. Only had two throw backs. Headed back to the marina. Cork or kig, didn’t matter. Found clean water coming out of a drain around a point and depth went from 3-8’. Was planning to fish tomorrow too but weather doesn’t look good.

Fulton County, Illinois. Saw 21 yesterday evening. Bucks chasing like crazy. Coolest hunting I’ve ever been on. Almost shot a very solid 4.5+ year old 8 point this morning but I’m here until Friday so it was too early to take him. Let me still be looking to fill a tag in a few days and he won’t be safe.

Killed a good public land buck here in Illinois yesterday evening at 2:40 PM.

I’ll do a write up and story another day. Cool crazy story. Stoked.

Swamped in Winn parish. Didn’t see anything this morning, we will get back in the stand around 3pm when the rain looks like it’ll have moved off.

Gosh dang dude that's a toad, congrats.

Northern Missouri public 50 degrees, misting. Took 1.5 hours to walk 0.8 miles, kept seeing deer. Young bucks chasing does everywhere. In some thick timber up against some crp thickets. Scrapes everywhere.

Saddle in a tree with heavy cover. Comfy as all hell today.

That’s a stud! Congrats!

I’ve never been hunting anywhere besides north Louisiana and a few hunts a a small tract we leased in Oklahoma last year. Illinois is incredible. What I witnessed yesterday evening tops anything I’ve seen on Outdoor Channel. The last 45 minutes of daylight I saw roughly 20 different deer. 4 mature bucks. Had a huge 10 come in to 35 yards but couldn’t get a clear shot before he took off after another doe. Two of the bucks chasing were bigger than the 10 but never got in range. Had a good 8 at 10 yards that I let walk. All at one time I was watching about 8 bucks chasing. These deer were so vocal. I’ve heard grunts in Louisiana but it’s not a common occurrence and I’ve never heard a doe bleat. The bucks were grunting/growling and the does were bleating louder than my call can even do. I didn’t kill anything and there is no doubt that will be one of the most memorable hunts of my life. I’ll be back every year.

You definitely timed it better than we did.

Last week sucked. We only started seeing deer on Thursday.

It was just luck. We usually come up earlier. I'm staying for rifle so I came up about a week later than usual.
