Do we have any pilots here? Has this ever happened to you?

Thank god there weren’t any curbs on the landing strip.

I was gonna get mine but then you gotta do 50 hours and they only let you go like 1 hour at a time so it’d take like a year

The instructor said I was really good. Hopefully trump gets rid of the faa so normal people can buy a plane and fly whenever they want. This is America

We used to have a plane that the door would pop open on but that’s a far more traumatic circumstance in the video.

Happened to one of our planes at the flight school I trained at. Pilot forgot to lock the canopy and it opened mid flight at 7k feet.

Luckily it didn’t damage the empennage and he was able to land safely.

I'm sure that if she spent us much time checking the canopy latch as she did setting up the Go Pro camera, this wouldn't have happened.

OG Leather helmet & goggles still rule

Judge in Baton Rouge was taking off and cargo door popped open, so he sat it back down immediately, forgetting he had already retracted the gear. Ooops.

I find myself curiously aroused by the face she was making.

I could think of way worse things to happen than that. When they first built planes many were open cockpit. At a low altitude not big deal other than wind in your face with no goggles to protect the eyes

Props to her (pun intended) for staying calm and making a safe landing

That’s a glider. I’ve seen this happen a couple times.

Is it wrong that my first thought was that she could really handle a stick?

She did well. That had to be rough with that wind in her face.

Been flying a j3 piper cub over 30 years. Open cockpit is awesome. She handled that situation extremely well.
