Dear Governor Landry, has your staff done their homework?

Does anyone on your staff know the history of Mike the Tiger and understand the obstacles overcome in getting a Mike VII?
Are you deliberately trying to destroy the tradition of Mike the Tiger?
Is the tiger you are borrowing coming from a truly accredited sanctuary?
Are you willing to resign your office if this turns into the debacle I think it could be and LSU loses accreditation to have a live tiger on campus?
I suggest someone in an adult leadership role in your administration get hold of Doctor Dave Baker, DVM, the retired long-time vet of Mike the Tiger to get background .

Apparently it isn’t actually hard. He made a phone call and got a random tiger to come
There aren’t any “obstacles” to getting a tiger. The only “obstacle” is are you willing to listen to people complain

If you get this upset over the mascot, I’d hate to be around you when the defense gives up a long 3rd down.

Yep, I heard Landry is driving the tiger in himself. He probably never contacted lsu and no one there even knows this is happening. Gonna blindside them saturday

It's not hard at all to get a tiger, you're obviously not aware of what Dr. Baker went through to get Mike VII. He was on his way to pick up a tiger when he got a call from USDA telling him that that particular sanctuary wasn't accredited and if he took that cat, LSU would not be permitted to get another tiger after that one passed away.

I'm not any sort of insider, but I would assume he's spoken to LSU about this and not just going to show up on Saturday with a Tiger unannounced.

Ouch. I hope someone in LSU's legal department reviewed this kind of information.

Jesus Christ. Relax OP. You act like this is the end of the fricking world. PETA can eat a dick. Nobody is telling LSU to get rid of Mike. The fact that people are butt hurt over this is fascinating.

Jeff Landry is a certified idiot.
I can’t believe people actually voted for him

I've put the information out there.
My observations of Jeff Landry so far is that he likes to double down on stupid.
Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it!

The problem is when Mike passes away and we want another Tiger. Tiger sanctuaries are gonna see this and use this as their reasoning to not give us a tiger (we almost didnt get our current Mike after the last one sadly passed). This is about the big picture. Id rather have Mike than no Mike and thats kinda what this boils down to.

It’s getting a lot harder to find reputable places that are willing donate them to the school. The sanctuary status helps with that, hence LSU being committed to keeping it.
