Anyone out there seeing any ducks yet? We've been building blinds the last two weekends - Terrebonne Parish. Least amount of ducks ever at this point in the year. We do; however, have a huge pile of pouldo. Not even any teal around. Very strange.

How many gators did you see?

It’s highly likely that I won’t be taking a dog out for the opener.

I was out Saturday and my old man was out Sunday. Extremely disappointing. I saw the same flock of 5 dogris flying around for a while, a group of 3 "big ducks" (no clue what they were), and jumped a couple flocks of 20-30 divers on the other side of the lease from my blind. Like you, ZERO teal. On the way back in I made a pass through our family tract back up near the boat launch and it was even worse. Literally zero ducks at all on us or Continental. I have zero expectations for next weekend.

On the plus side, there is a fairly good amount of pouldo (similar to last year). And our grass situation is MUCH better than I though. We actually have probably 70-75% coverage, though my blind and my pops blind are both in the 2 areas with zero. Big spread with lots of motion and I should draw them in.

It's been very warm. Cold front pushing through today should have some on the move.

Saw video of a pile of Specks with a pretty good number of ducks sitting out on the farm on 15 East of Monroe. They just started flooding so they should stick around as they continue to flood more fields. Any rain will obviously help. Good thing is with this sliver of a weekend in November, duck season in the East Zone opens earlier so they aren’t gonna just sit there damn near a month.

I heard the Jones area had a good bunch of Specks too but that’s usually a given for this time of year.

Good luck! My son is not happy about it, but I've still gotta brush mine. Trying to track down some rozos. Of course the one year I was going to break down and buy some, is the one year I havent seen anyone selling.

Its 85 degrees here in east central Georgia today. I wouldn't be surprised if our local wood ducks and golf course geese ain't headed north to beat the heat.....

Yeah, good luck with the rozo. I've been searching for weeks. I bought a bunch of fast grass. I'm going to put that, then put CDA on the outside the fast grass.

I'm going ride this evening and start.

I may end up doing that with fast grass as well. I usually put a layer of rozo against the frame and break them over, then add a layer of CDA along the outside lower half to break up the hard corners and straight lines

We will be in Pecan Island this weekend for the youth opener. We are sure hoping we will have a few to shoot at. I haven't heard any reports from down that way.

Dad and uncle were in Venice last week and ducks were few and far between down river. I will be there Fri-Sun fishing and not expecting to see many.

Ducks were minimal last weekend in Delta Duck and SouthPass area. Few blue wings still hanging along passes and Baptiste, but did not see any widgeon and Pins like normally do right before season.

Good luck headed down there this weekend, trout are thick down Grand/Red Passes.
