Good news. Last trip I made was central WMA around Pete's and they weren't in there yet. This was 3 weeks ago.

I had a 20ft Excel and loved it. I owned 4 aluminum boats in a row and just bought a 23ft Skeeter fiberglass.
Used from Venice to the Basin - fishing, tubing, etc. Pick your days but it was well built and rode dry. My brother has an Avid and it's nice but rides real wet with minimum V and low sides. The 22' Excel is a nice rig.
If you take your wife in a 22ft glass boat in chop and then in a 22ft aluminum boat in chop, it'll be an easy decision. I liked the lack of maintenance on my aluminum but it's no comparison in ride quality.

I had it in my left arm terribly from poor technique doing a tricep exercise. I couldn't lift my tailgate without terrible pain.
I found a PT who did dry needling with electronic stimulation (a needle at the muscle where pain was and another towards my wrist, connected to a power source and pulsed). I don't know if that's the proper terminology, but that's how it worked. She did the needles and scraped it. When she scraped it, it felt like dragging a rake over gravel there was so much inflammation.
Six or seven sessions of this, light PT exercises and laying off heavy lifting solved my issue.

I have an old 10/22 that I upgraded with a magpul stock, shaw barrel, dead air mask suppressor, bx trigger, and Sig red dot. I would call that the standard online upgrade from the forums. My next will be a bolt action.
My kids put 700 rounds of CCI sub sonic (1050 fps) through it last weekend plinking at the camp with no issues and didn't bother a soul. My neighbor walked over and thought they were shooting an air rifle. I haven't tried any other "quiet" ammo yet, but this one is fun as heck

After dealing with Amazon drivers stealing small electronics out of the box and delivering me an empty box - I've gone to Best Buy for my last few purchases (air pods, hard drive, SD cards, etc.) with no issues
Batteries charged? Voltage drop might be the culprit. Should be an inline fuse also to check.
I ran this same engine for five years. I ran a deep cycle 1000CCA battery with no issues. Same battery ran my GPS and power pole.

I was there this weekend. The water came down since Friday.
FWIW, we found a good redfish bite in the BM. Talked two capt's who braved the sound today (Sunday) and did well. Noone ran outside yesterday with all the storms around.

By that time, the water should be back to normal levels. I would not cancel.
Consider getting a charter, grab lunch / dinner at Tee Wee's by Campo's marina and enjoy your time down there.
The moquito's have been terrible in the evenings so prep for that.

Bounce around the rigs out of Eloi and south of Harbor point until you find them. They're catching them up against the long rocks also but they will be stacked on the rigs.

I hunt the WMA regularly. It's hit or miss like any other area. The WMA is regularly bow fished so the birds do not hang out there long since they can't rest at night.
It's weather dependent like anything else. No wind means the birds go south or sit on Lake B. You have to fight the public like any WMA but there's ways to be successful out there.
I would not pay to hunt anywhere near the WMA since it is so big and worth scouting to find where birds are congregating. I would go hunt the WMA a few times before committing to a lease.

How did you do? I took my kids yesterday (Sat) and small trout and white trout everywhere we stopped. We hit little half moon, china pass and then muscle area. A few bull reds mixed in
