SxS prices are absurd. You could get a pretty nice jeep for that.

You’re better off with a CFMOTO UForce 1000xl.

That’s the first time I’ve ever seen that statement

At one time, Mules were known as being reliable, solid/sturdy, but slow. I'd check on the top speed, if that is important to you. If you ever go trail riding you'll want something that nears 60mph, as sometimes you'll have to park a decent distance from the trailhead and ride the distance in your SxS.

True story. I've been looking at 12-15 yo Wranglers just to have one to hunt out of. You can find high mileage ones 8k-10k pretty easily. 15k-20k buys one that's about too nice to just hunt out of. . Meanwhile a new tricked out Polaris Ranger can cost 40k. What a world.

Could never pull the trigger on one, but these are really nice looking in person.
The mule 1000 has had a big recall. Not sure thay people were happy with the fix. Buyer beware.

I have a mule, Ranger, and Gator XUV. I’ll replace the John Deere and Rangers with Mules soon.

Buddy bought one. It’s loud as frick and the clutch in that thing is horrible. It bucks so bad it almost gave me whiplash. It isn’t half the chicle as a Kawasaki Mike.

If that’s true then the bottom must have fallen out of the used market. Certainly wouldn’t argue with picking a mechanically solid jeep or older taco over a sxs as a hunting vehicle especially if the hunting property is a short drive from the house.

A new tricked out jeep can cost $90K. A sucker is born every day. Most sxs’s in the 14-16K range have more power than anyone really needs and can stand up to being beat to shite. Just preference over what you want to run around in.

Yea, not saying buy a Jeep if you need a sxs. I have 2 sxs's and no Jeeps. Just pointing out the current state of prices.

As a recent Jeep owner (2015 JK), don't do it. The engines are complete garbage. If you make it to 75k miles without a major repair consider yourself lucky. Unless you want to continually work on a vehicle, stay away from a Jeep, huge POSs. If you let your Jeep get 8/9 years old with over 150k miles on it, you can't hardly give it away, everyone knows they're just buying a problem.

I wonder how much the destination, setup, and other dealer fees are?

Got the 1000 FXT 1000 LE Ranch edition September of last year at House of Cycles in West Monroe. Went with the Ranch because it came with a winch and self-leveling suspension, dealer installed a rear windshield. Also, my wife preferred the look of it over the base LE model and I didn't need a lot of convincing. I'd still prefer camo/olive drab green, but it is a good looking machine. Total before all the bullshite fees and tax was around $22K. This was a good bit more than I planned on spending on a sxs,..but I'm in my mid-50s and hopefully this will be the last one I ever purchase.
Power and payload are great. I've loaded the bed and a 5x10 trailer down with firewood and pulled it easily. Top speed is listed at 67, and I can confirm that is accurate. I've only done this once just to see if it could, I normally drive around 45 on the parish roads around my hunting camp.
Negatives
Engine makes a popping noise when warmed up and driving 40+ mph. Almost sounds like a piece of pea gravel bouncing around back there. This seems to be pretty common with the Mule, it's never been a problem and more of a minor annoyance.
And then the big one, a stop sale recall was issued earlier this year and owners were directed by Kawasaki to park them until a fix was available. As I understand it, a few Mules caught on fire when starting up due to combustion issues. I continued to drive mine after I read online to wait until the fuel pump finished priming before starting the engine. Got the fix a few months ago, took a couple of hours at the dealership and think it was some programming and harness replacement.
All in all, pleased with purchase so far.
