Used to hunt some in Liberty Hill when I was in college. Buddy’s family owned a house on Wateree and had about 30 acres on the other side of the road. Always tons of deer down there.

Got him! Spike...but his first, public land, sitting on the ground. We were not shopping for a stud.

I had us in the ground blind way early, he was dozing. As light was just starting to come (30 minutes before sunrise as per rules and such), I saw a doe coming across the field opposite us. She was moving slow, but we lost her as she went down into a dip. I bopped him about 5 times before he figured it out and saw it. Then we had to switch places. Anyway, once we couldn't see the doe, I spotted another one from the same direction. I held the bipod, he got on it. I was ready to stop it but it stopped on its own. He shot, it flopped on the ground but then got up and took off. Then I saw the doe's white tail hauling arse off the our right. We waited, then found it. It only ran 35-40 yards. It was quartering to us a little more than we thought, so his shot a little too far back resulted in the gutness. Whatever, gutted there, loaded, all cleaned up before noon. He assisted with the clean/quarter. Good times. I was hoping we at least saw one this weekend, he was shut out last year.

Lock on in Bossier Parish
Had a second encounter with a big 8 last Sunday evening but couldn’t close the deal.

Had him at 20 yards but couldn’t draw back because he had two smaller bucks with him looking in my direction.

Today could be the day but it’s pretty warm. He wasn’t spooked and never winded me so I might get lucky.

You are bow hunting and seeing squirrels or you are bowhunting squirrels?

I couldnt bring myself to sling a $20 arrow at a squirrel

West Fel Parish.

Mathews Phase 4, tree saddle.

Lil 3 acre patch of woods I got permission to hunt in.

Had a doe bust me while I was pulling my bow up at 330. Shot a big nanny (no spots on the yearling) at 5:10. She weighed 135.

Easy hunt. I was hunting 100 yards from my truck and the deer dropped about 30 yards from the road.

Killed a nice doe this evening right before dark in western oklahoma with the muzzleloader.
Been VERY slow yesterday and today. Gonna be hot tomorrow so I'm not expecting much.
