It's where all the movers and shakers are going these days. Supper Club is so passé.

Had friends go there not long after it opened and they said it was a huge mistake. They had ALL of the problems with new restaurants. But they said they would give it another chance after a few months.

Went 2 weeks ago. Staff needs much training on how to serve at a restaurant of that caliber. Food was ok. The interior is well done and the lounge is pretty cool to hang out in. Some of the prices are just dumb. Some are fair. It definitely needs fine tuning. I”ll give it another shot for sure.

The Old Colonel's Club from the late 80's, early 90's was a sweet spot for sat/sunday day drinking,

I really want to love it. Food did not hit. Everything was cold too. Weirdly, I had heard from someone else before I went that their food was all cold. Makes me wonder if they don't have heat lamps on the expo line or something.
I think it has potential, though. Menu was created by that dude that did Beausoleil, Pizza Art Wine, etc., and he seems to be talented.
Cocktails are great. I'd hang in the lounge regularly. Beautiful space. The food just wasn't there.

Went 1.5 weeks ago. A few notes
Parking is inexplicably bad. In terms of decor/design, it is very nice and New Orleansy, but it is loud as shite inside and some of the 2-tops are ridiculously close to one another, to the point where we could elbow the people on the sides of us.
Service was just plain bad. I get that it's a new restaurant and there are always kinks to work out, but there was a distinct lack of training from all the staff we dealt with. Waitress never refilled waters, she couldn't answer menu questions, etc. Bar and kitchen were slow as shite too, and we weren't there at prime time - drinks took forever, apps took forever, entrees were relatively quicker. Finished plates took ages to get cleared.
As far as the food itself - it wasn't bad, but wasn't great either, especially given the pricing. Shrimp dip appetizer was bland, while the meatballs were super acidic. Not to the point of ruining the whole app, but way more acidic than any traditional meatballs I've had. Lobster tail that came with the gnocchi was properly cooked and the dish as a whole was fine. Shrimp Calabrese was bland and the rigatoni was overcooked
As a whole, it wasn't a bad experience but it was entirely forgettable. There are countless better options in BR for a $200 dinner. I won't write it off completely since I tend to be forgiving with new restaurants, but I'm gonna wait a long time before giving it another shot. They have a lot of work to do

Cool spot, but expensive

The parking is the same reason I never go to Bldg5. It's awful.
I actually like how they changed the parking up layout wise, but it's still extremely limited.

The try hard vibe of these places is embarrassing.
Colonel's Club and Supper Club
Plenty of better fine dining options in town that aren't for new money posers

They’re suppose to be building a parking lot at the end of the street where that old shitty building/lay down yard was.

Did not have a good experience. Great build out, excellent cocktails and wine list but the food was cold, gave us the shits and everything tasted bad.

After reading the reviews from folks who have dined there I stand by The Old COlonels Club circa later 80's early 90's was the GOAT in that building. Sat. Sun day drinking at it's finest.

It’s been open almost 2 months and they are still working out the kinks? It’s like they hired a bunch of people who have never worked in a restaurant which is fine but not if you are charging Mansur’s kind of prices.

This is what I'm hoping is the case as well. The dude who made the menu is not lacking in talent, so unless he is no longer involved, I don't see how the food doesn't improve.
Going by his reputation, I don't think he would make changes based on customer feedback necessarily, but he is skilled enough that he personally doesn't seem like he'd want lackluster or cold food being served.

Seems like a lot of spots new in the last few years are unfortunately having to deal with this. SoLou, Spoke and Hub, Colonel's Club, Juban's, Rouj Creole... We've had bizarre experiences with service at all of these. And we are as easygoing as they come.
Just weird things like us having to open a bottle of wine for the server or a supposed sommelier asking our price range and going, "that one is good, this one is good, that one is good, this one is good -- really anything that price is good" as he points to the menu.

So it's overpriced?

Seriously? How? How could the pendulum swing so far the other way? I adored Beausoleil
