-The Aggies have lost six of their past seven games against ranked teams (credit Jimbo for that)

- Mike Elko is a hell of a coach, but his roster is not battle tested, yet.

- passing game ranked outside the top 100 and a quarterback (Conner Weigman) with more interceptions than touchdowns, despite going against a top 25 run defense, despite building their defensive reputation against opponents without a top 40 offense.

The Aggies are the favorite because of Kyle Field, where 107,000-plus didn’t make a difference against Notre Dame.

- LSU is battle tested on the road at SC, ARK
- Battle tested at home against OM
- Top 5 QB in the country statisctcally
- Blake Baker is a defensive mastermind when it comes to pass heavy QB's by pressuring them with complex blitz packages

LSU 30, TAMU 23

Their first game of the season they were tested, also in their game against Arkansas.

Maybe....and Mizzou isn't as good as their record indicates. But A&M whipped the hell out of them. So anything can happen.

Maybe not as many tough games but we did have a common SEC opponent. And they won that game.

They’re tested enough to win this game at home if it’s a very close game.

LSU is facing its 2nd SEC road game. Odds are not in our favor. Stop their run game and make their QB make the hard throws. Nuss will have to win this one. They have a good run game defense. If O line holds the best D line we have played we win by 10.

Eh, there are either missing or over/under emphasized data points as support.

We might have more quality wins than them, but let’s be real: Nussmeier has never played in an environment like this before. I wouldn’t be shocked if he shits the bed.

Serious question:
Is Texas A A&M more talented or better on defense than South Carolina or Ole Miss?
I thought both those teams had strong defenses and played us tough.

Ehh, South Carolina & Arky were tough environments to play in. They aren’t Kyle field, but Nuss knows what it’s like to go on the road now. I don’t trust another QB in the country in the 4th quarter more than Nuss right now, he’s got balls of steel when the teams gotta have it.

I know I wasn’t around here for this, but I told my coworkers that the win at USCe will pay dividends in college station. I was more worried about that game with college game day and how erect the cocks were than I am about A&M.

And preseason I said we’d lose at A&M. Feel better now.

Mizzou DB’s looked like LSU db’s last year in that game. Aggy WR we’re wide open all game. Their D is a shell of its 2023 self. Blake is the man.

Disagree. They are battle tested. I rewatched the Miss State game. What I saw is that they are big, strong, and fast and very well coached. Mike Elko is a no nonsense hell of a coach.

With the crowd, this is a tall task.

I thought both those teams had strong defenses and played us tough.

SC has 3 NFL type players in their DEs and Tonka the DT. A&M has a very good DL and Scourton is a beast at DE. SC has better DBs than aggie though.

Their defense gave up 379 to Ark on a neutral site and we held the hogs to 277 at Fayettville. They also gave up 367 yds to State last week. There are yards to be had vs their DBs. Also, if Durham is fully healthy I think he can get yards vs A&M. He started get carries vs SC and by game he had:
@SC 11/98 2 TDs
UCLA 6/14 (not sure why we didn't run him much that game)
S. Alabama 7/128 1 TD (got hurt)
Ole Miss 12/37 (was not healthy)
@Ark 21/101 3 TDs

Hopefully he didn't reaggravate his injury and is getting near 100%. Kelly said he was 85% during the Ark game. If 100% he can make dynamic plays in the run and pass game and open up the offense.

They are about as battle tested as we are. And our loss is much worse than theirs.

You aren’t 4-0 in SEC play without being battle tested.

Ughhh the AF Billy Johnson said Nuss has not played in an atmosphere like this or been tested. I was at the Ole Miss game. Behind till the last play. Multiple 4th down amazing throws with the game over if he misses. 102,000 screaming fans. He's been tested and came through 10 of 10 when it counted.

It looks that way, maybe he will be, but he is a disciple of Brian Kelly and disciples hardly ever wins the first time they go against the master. We will see!
