Why are divorce rates higher in red states?

Edit I've also added marriage rates for comparison. Darker states have higher marriage rates. According to Bowling Green State.

State population doesn't appear to factor into the map. These are raw numbers, not rates. Those who made the map are fricking stupid, and those who posted it on tigerdroppings are fricking stupider.

Is this a fact? It seems like their marriage rates are generally so abysmal that the ones who do get married would not be getting divorced at much higher rates than other racial groups.

Off-topic, but marriages between white men and black women are 44% less likely to end in divorce than a marriage between a white man and a white woman. The divorce rate for black man/white woman marriages is astronomical.
