Been a loyal American Express cardholder for years so The Centurion lounge has been our go-to, however, it was full so went to the United club, and it was a major disappointment.

Breakfast is powdered eggs and the sausages were bland and room temperature. The toaster machine for the bagels was broken.

Is this par for the course or did we just go on a bad day?

Pretty typical. United Clubs are almost all terrible.

Only United lounges worth going to are Polaris lounges if you are flying international business.

United lounges at ORD (B6 and C18), LAX (71A), LGA, and SFO (F11) are all worth being at, which isn't too surprising, but yeah... there are some pretty bad ones out there

This thread is perfectly timed. Is united club only for those with a club membership or flying business class? Flying out of IAH tomorrow.

Yeah, Centurion Lounge definitely has better food and drinks vs United Club (still think it's BS that United Club charges for premium drinks). I find United Club more convenient and there's some better amenities in the larger United Clubs vs Centurion. The new United Club at EWR C terminal is probably the nicest domestic airline club I've seen.

Was just having that very same conversation with the guy sitting next to me at the bar, he did say that IAH is building new one that is supposed to be equivalent to that one at EWR.

We have a United club card which gets us into the lounges, but I don’t what other things will get people in

It’s not near as exclusive as people make it out to be

Went to one of the United Lounges (near B44) in Denver last week because Centurion was full at 10AM (as usual unfortunately).

I thought the atmosphere was better, but food and drink were a small step down.

ETA - the IAH Centurion Lounge is my least favorite one. Always feel crammed in and the food has been lackluster on my visits.

Yes, must be flying international first/business, have a card with access, buy the subscription or buy a one time pass for $59 per.

1. Club membership with same day United flight
2. Purchased day pass
3. International business/first
4. International and Star Alliance Gold

Alaska is the only airline that still does lounge access for domestic first

Yeah, the Denver Centurion lounge is always a shite show

I've started trying to go to international Star Alliance lounges whenever possible now. The Maple Leaf lounge at LGA and Turkish lounge at IAD are both fantastic and convenient.

Same with Vegas. We were here this time last year and there was probably 50 people waiting in line.

It looked like some exclusive VIP club, they only let somebody in whenever somebody comes out. Obviously were at capacity pretty quickly

I don’t know who in their right mind would stand there for 45+ minutes which is what the lady the front desk was telling people in line how long the wait was…. And those dumb motherfrickers just stood there waiting their turn to get in

The new Capital One and Chase lounges are really nice, but there simply aren't as many of them yet.

And there always seems to be a wait to get in from what I've seen at least with the Capital one

I have the club card and 99% of the time I travel alone for work but how strict are they with the plus 2 allowances? If traveling with my wife and 2 kids, would it be a problem to get us all in?

Different clubs have different policies. Once we were told we could get 8 in, another max of 2. On the United Club card
