frick yes. One less fricking thing to worry about.

What a steal. I thought he would cost at least 30 a year.

Good deal for both sides.

And this is why you negotiate until the last day when you have control. Amazing deal

Quickley got 35 a year which is crazy. Trey and Herb's deal are great for the team.

Quickley robbed Toronto by negotiating early.
Herb and Murphy around 40 a year is wild.

Perfect. Glad to hear this.

28 a year is tbh a steal.
Now this makes me wonder cap wise if BI is staying and CJ is the one leaving

Got to hand it to Griff for getting our core players on great contracts in a small market. Murray, Herb, Jose, and now Trey are all on great long contracts.

Just looking ahead Trey’s first year will start around 25 million, so that puts us at 157 million in dedicated salary next season with 10 under contract.
Tax line is estimated at 187 million, so depending on the BI situation we may be looking very good to stay under the tax next season as we have 30 million to play with for 5 spots, and an expiring CJ at another 30 million.

I want to think CJ is going to ask out this offseason to ring chase but who knows.
Either way financially we will be flexible very soon which is GOOD.

Great contract. Good move.
It obviously means that BI's days are numbered whether that's a trade or simply letting him go this offseason.

For 2025-26
We have roughly 126.4m on the books for sure, and will actively be trying to trade out CJ's 30.6m for a center or other gaps in the roster.
Assuming we just let BI walk.
We actually have a shite ton of money unlocking next year

Honestly less than I thought he'd go for

This is absolutely fantastic for the teams future. So glad I get to see him grow more as a pelican.
