First things first, obviously I am going to see my doctor about this. Just waiting for them to call me back.

I had my physical last week and they did a blood draw. It was weirdly painful and felt like a vein inside my arm was on fire while they were doing it. Didn't mention anything because it ended as soon as they stopped pulling blood.

A few days later when I flex my arm that feeling started to return. Is it possible they hit a nerve while taking my blood? Just sort of trying to figure out if that's even possible while waiting for my doc to call me back.

TIA

Happened to me. Tingling sensation shot up my arm. Felt weird for a few days.

Went away on its own. Probably not something to run to the doctor over unless it affects your ability to use that arm.

Did the needle say “you have aids now” when they pulled it out? I’ve heard of this happening at the movie theater

Believe me, if they stuck a nerve, you'd know it immediately and quite painfully. I've had 3 nerves struck with needles, once at a dental procedure and my head bolted back so hard in the chair I thought I was going to knock he headrest off.

The second time I was getting a cortisone shot for the pain of torn ligaments in my right elbow and the Dr. hit a nerve that hurt so much I actually started laughing from the pain.

The last time was just a month ago when they were prepping me for ankle surgery and did a nerve block to help with the pain for about 3 days after the surgery. Dr. hit me behind my lower thigh and my foot started twitching violently on its own, followed by a few jolts of searing pain in the foot that only lasted a few seconds--------------thankfully.

Absolutely. Happened to me, and would happen periodically when straightening my arm for a month or two. After that it went away completely.

median nerve in antecubital fossa

They could have irritated your median nerve. It should feel fine in a week or so.

Developmentally, veins, arteries, and nerves travel and grow together, so it would not be all that unusual for you to have a nerve injury during needle insertion. The numbness and tingling may last a few weeks. You should be concerned if you have any loss of motor function, which is much less common.

I had a surgical procedure where they had to put an arterial line above my wrist (radial artery). When I was in recovery, my hand was numb and I had no feeling in two of my fingers (ring and middle). Let the doctor know. He and another doctor examined and consulted for a bit. They traversed a nerve placing the line. Not terribly uncommon, but unsettling to me. In ta week or so, I was back to normal. The movement came back quicker than the feeling, but completely normal before too long.

Different placement on arm, and likely a different nerve, but the result was the same.

Yes

Most are better within a week, however, some can linger.

If you are unfortunate, rarely, people get “complex regional pain syndrome” post-phlebotomy.

Time usually heals this type of injury.
There is no way to predict who might get it.

And apparently it's still giving you fits.
