the old ones are cool to look at. I like the one with the old box in it...do you know the year?

IMO this is peak aesthetic Tiger Stadium. The design looks great without any upper decks .

I've always wondered though why they did the south endzone as a split level and didn't just clone the north endzone.

Wasn't it more seating capacity? But I think it would look amazing had the followed the North Endzone structure on the South End too.

A gorgeous stadium, and once upon a time the greatest sporting venue in the world. I've been to sporting events all over the globe: numerous mammoth college football stadiums, English Premiere League matches, Argentine futbol, NFL games in various cities, NCAA basketball tournaments, the World Cup, international rugby matches, All-Star games, and so on. Nothing could compare to Tiger Stadium on a Saturday Night for pure passion, noise, and spectacle. Sad that the atmosphere has died in an avalanche of apathy and laziness.

See! They even stormed the field back in the 1800s

I read somewhere that they would have had to move South Stadium drive to be able to fit an exact duplicate of the north end zone on the south end.... maybe the original chemical engineering building too

Nice pics! Notice this one--upper west deck is there so had to be 1978 or after. See the empty space where the band sits (they're on the field)? I was a student from 79-83 and we sat on the west/northwest sidelines also up to about the 20. Before LSU woke up to get big money.

I personally think the best look was with just the east and west uppers expansion.

Didn't know we had shrubs at one time. And who thought it would be a good idea to plant trees?

Stop with the disinformation! This is obviously a video of Mike from 1935, not 1933. PVC was invented by Chancellor Mark Emmert in late 1934, and the stadium pvc is clearly visible in the background.

Just wish they had not added three additional sections wrapping around the south end. Perhaps a little less capacity, but I like symmetry.

The quad would be so much more spectacular without it there. Are they moving when they rebuild it? Or will it be rebuilt where it is?
