What is the best dating/relationship advice that you ever received ?

I broke my rule of not dating a woman with kids for a woman that was just too drop dead gorgeous to pass up.
An older friend of mine told me "Before you do something stupid like marry this girl, just remember that when she looks at that kid it doesn't remind her of you".
I ended it and am forever grateful for that advice.

If you can walk away without it completely ripping you to shreds.. then keep walking because she isn't the one..
Look hard at her mom. The way she handles herself, the way she talks to others, the way she is either respected or not respected.. The way she looks.. whether there is an attraction there for you.. Do you like the way she treats her husband? Apples don't usually fall real far from the tree..
When you have kids one day, would you want the way this girl behaves to be one of your kids? If she is a tramp, I'm guessing you wouldn't want that.. Once again.. the apples don't fall far from the trees..
