Went to the hunting club between Oil City and Vivian yesterday to put up a feeder and cameras. Stopped off at the camp to check on things and my 2004 Honda Foreman was gone. The key was still there tucked away in my hiding spot. Got the sheriff's dept out there and filed a police report. The deputy said these things are rarely recovered, thank goodness I had insurance on it.

NWLA baws be on the lookout for my bike. It has aluminum ITP rims, ITP 589 tires, a Warn sticker on the front, a Strong Built sticker on the back. The back rack was not on it anymore and it had a double milk crate mounted on the back.

The deputy said the meth heads in the area have been really bad lately stealing shite. So please be on the lookout on FB Marketplace and if you see it let me know.

What a bummer, hopefully it'll be recovered.

I started putting AirTags on all our equipment, tractors, mowers, ATVs, etc. Took them apart and disabled the speaker to make them harder for someone to find when they get alerted an AirTag is present. Not foolproof but might make it easier to recover if anything goes missing.

Green Jeans is too busy trying to pick pockets to simply check the VIN of people he runs across.

If you have a tag and a license and not over the limit they got other people to rob, er, check. I mean it’s not like a thief would have any wildlife violations solving multiple issues at once.

Hope the insurance works out for you!

I work in the criminal prosecution world and everyone should have AirTags on their ATVs. They get recovered within the hour if they are tagged.

Thanks for the advice on the air tag. I have one on my damn dog and never even thought about putting them on my bikes. I will definitely get 2 and put them on the others.

Air tags are $29. Everyone should have one on their ATV, boat, mower, and trailer.

I do indeed hate a thief. Those tires aren't made. Should be an easy find if you watch marketplace.

Well... If you cant find one... I'm selling that exact same bike in a 2003 es. It's been parked in my shop for 5 years and I just had time to mess with it.

Here's a short how-to on removing the speaker. I did this with all of mine. Makes it so if a thief gets an alert about being near an AirTag they can't play the chirping sound to try to locate it.

I got your email. Thanks

I'll need to replace it with something.

Our society is so screwed up! I hope you find it, but something tells me it's long gone or it's not in the shape you left it in.

Very interested in how your insurance claim proceeds. Please post an update once you get a response from insurance.

Thieves suck.

Are AirTags worth it in a Android/Samsung household? Can you even activate them?

I am not positive but I think your can still download "find my" if you just have AirTags. The original android option was the Tile but everyone (android and iOS) users have to have the tile app downloaded on their phone to ping. Every person carrying an iPhone has find my downloaded by apple even if they don't utilize AirTags so there is a better chance of the AirTag pinging.
