2025 will be worse until 2026. More 1st rd picks leaving again this fall w/o replacements

2025 NFL Draft will have at least Will Campbell, Emery Jones, and Harold Perkins leave. Yes I know Perkins might actually make our Defense worst, still too early to tell as we played USA.
Would even be worse if Nuss leaves after this year, which seems like it may be more likely than not if he keeps doing well.
2024 NFL Draft had 3 more 1st round picks leave.
Who's going to replace them? We don't have many at all that are playmakers after this year. Bryce Underwood and the great class with maybe Jakeem Stewart will be true freshman in 2025. We will be very True Freshman dependent.
It will be a rough year next year.
HOWEVER FALL 2026 IS WHEN A DYNASTY STARTS For 5-6 straight years LSU will have not only the #1 overall QB, but #1 overall player with Bryce Underwood, then the Dunham QB that's class of 2027 (and there's 3 other QBs in that class of 27 that are 5-stars, top 30 recruits that LSU has a great chance at in QB in Nuss's little bro, Evangel QB, Benton QB, maybe one other). Will maybe end up with 2, 5-star QBs in 2027 with #1 overall player, #1 overall QB.
But just as important as having an elite QB is having DBs. BK and staff has to do all they can to get Top 150 DBs. That is a must to bring LSU to a nati. Last year with a decent defense is a national championship caliber team. Except we had 78th ranked defense which is unimaginable when you're pulling in top 6 or top 7 classes year in and year out.

That's what the portal is for...plus don't underestimate the backups...if Vandy can beat Alabama with their roster, why can't we?

No replacements? What about the two super star TEs we’ve signed the last two years?
What about the great DL recruits we have brought in and are already showing out?
What about the stud RBs?
What about the young QBs we already have on the roster?
Our defense will finally be an LSU defense next year. Our offense will be loaded at the skill positions. We’ll see about the line.

We are starting to sound like Tennessee with the next year shite continuously.

I’m a Kelly supporter and have been lenient with the roster to this point. People keep pointing to year 3, and I’ve said my year 3 for him is after his 3rd full recruiting cycle.
After this season, there are no more excuses about roster. And no more game 1 excuses. Kelly will be in the clock for his time at that point.

No next year will be really good. Will likely return Nuss, Mason Taylor, Anderson, Zavion Thomas on offense. Replacing the OL will be tough but we have recruited well enough for it. Defensively Guillory will be back in the IDL couple him with Breaux, Suggs, McKinnley and Stewart. Womack will finally get to shine and Reilford will be very solid. Whit will be back at LB and we may bring in a stud from the portal to pair with him or Atkins develops. At CB we will have Stamps and Pickett starting with Woodland and JK backing them up. Safety is the only question mark but I imagine spears takes one of those spots and Gilbert has another year of eligibility. Safety I think is the #1 need in the portal going into the offseason. #2 being OT and #3 being WR.

Yeah it’s not like LSU has recruited two good classes the last two years at all.
Goodness man who cares about next year right now

We have the 4th most recent national championship. There’s at least 120 and some change other teams that hold this distinction more than us.

lets look at the last 5 years since our national title.
LSU have 20 losses. Which puts us at 8th place in the sec. We're an average sec football team and trending downhill.
Alabama has 6 losses and Georgia has 4 losses since 2020.

Stupid post. Elite programs lose talent every year and have to replace it the following season. I trust our staff to develop recruits and top off with a few portal guys every year.

Kelly just has to use the portal. Remains to be seen if he will though as the last two seasons he has failed to shore up the holes in the defense. This should be a big portal off-season in my opinion.

Someone clarify, but on offense we stand to lose: 4/5 OL, Lacy, Daniels, Thomas, Taylor, and Nuss. That's a lot to replace in one year. I realize Nuss is TBD, but either way a reasonable expectation would be the offense is gonna have some growing pains early '25, i.e., a rebuild. So I kinda agree with the OP, that '26 should be a better year than '25.
As for Vandy beating Ba*ma* that was music to my eyes. But it's also a statistical outlier. It would be fair to ask, if Vandy can beat Bama with their roster, why haven't we been beating Bama all these years with our rosters?

Yes this post is grossly ignoring how much talent we’re stacking at certain positions. Next years defense on paper is the most talented defense in the Brian Kelly era. The corner room will feel like a classic LSU cb room. DJ Pickett is a Stingley/peterson level talent he’s a day 1 starter at corner , stamps should be pretty good by year 3, PJ woodland is a dog, Kade Phillips and Aidan sending are another stud from the 2025 class,
The lb group will be more athletic next year with Atkins and singleton next to weeks
The DL has a chance to be insanely good with a year with Ahmad breax and McKinley up the middle and reliford and Womack rushing the passer
Safety is prob the only question but spears is very talented and we have some other talented youngsters like kylin Jackson.
Offensively we’ll be loaded at back and have a lot of young high upside talent at wr.
