The only movie I’ve seen in the theater with an intermission was Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight.

For some reason, I remember Superman 3 having an intermission when I saw it at the theater as a kid.

Obviously I didn't see it in theaters but doesn't Ben Hur have one?

I got extra credit in my 7th grade social studies class for watching Gettysburg, there was an intermission in it. I think I may have been the only one under 70 in the theater.

Many epics of the 50s & 60s had them

They were "road shows", meaning you could charge higher ticket prices

What's the last movie you saw w/an overture?

Intermission is what we called it when it was a 2 vhs movie and it was time to switch.

Also, for modern movies I actually wish any movie over 2 hours would have a short break so I could refresh drinks and take a leak. I’ve mostly started going to IPIC because at least they’ll serve me drinks and snacks the whole time.

Lawrence of Arabia. Damn, that was so needed. I was under 10.

We also had prayer intermissions in the middle of the one NFL game we got a week in the gulf.

Seems like I remember The Sting having an intermission. That was in the 70s.
