So my wife decided to paint our dining room.

(No pics.) Instead of hiring a professional who have knocked it out in a few days, we have been on an adventure that is now at two weeks and counting. I had to do manly stuff like remove light fixtures and repair some sheetrock, but she has done everything else. Everything is in chaos. It is taking forever, but, to her credit, it might look halfway decent when she is done.
Gentlemen, when your wife says she wants to paint your dining room, move out.

Any self respecting man can knock that out in 2 hours…no painters tape needed. Cut them lines baw.

Can we get some pictures from the back while she’s painting them baseboards?

That better one hell of a dining room to take that long to paint. I can paint the hell out of a normal sized room in one day. And that’s while drinking a 12 pack of beer.

That’s nice she’s saving you some money and then have the satisfaction that she completed it.

Absolutely zero reason for it to take that long.

Lots of wood trim and chair rails and shite. Whoever designed and built my house should be shot.
3 different colors in the room, excluding trim, but she is handling it. Slowly.

Humble brag….. my dining room is 7,000 square feet.

That should take a day, two max
Similar deal but repainted the whole downstairs last year. Hired some guys though and although a pita (moving everything, etc) it was only 5-7 days all told. One room should be a breeze.

Painting is pretty easy

I loathe painting. Hire it out whenever possible.

I just did my entire main living space with my wife. Foyer, living room, dining and kitchen.
We did it in 3 days. Don't be a puss

I love painting. I have painted every room in our house except for the great room bc the ceilings are too tall- so we hired a professional for that.
Is she also working full time and taking care of y'alls kiddo's and what not?
there are plenty of reasons why it may be taking longer than if a professional came in and it was his only job to paint the room.

I’m surprised his under butler, the footmen, and the hall boys could not knockout the dining room paint job quickly.

When she’s done, lift her up onto the table and tell her you’re gonna give her a well-earned reward, courtesy of Benjamin-Most. Then, put the lay in latex. Tell her she’s Purdy when she’s working.

Jesus, just paint the room and be done with it, instead of whining here while your wife “out mans” you.

My wife has painted most of the rooms in our house she wanted repainted. Two weeks is way too long.
