He chose LSU, over Michigan, USC, and Iowa!! Fun fact: He’s the nephew of Magic Johnson

I wonder if all the retards on the rant/Wade worshipers who have been calling for McMahon’s head will give him any credit if he gets this thing rolling again.

Haven't called for McMahons head. Want him to be a successful as any coach. But he ain't Will Wade. Wade was the best thing happening for LSU basketball since the early 90's. I despise the hypocrites that vilified him and the disgusting NCAA extorting us by threatening football. Wade had the juice and could have built a monster here for a 10-15 year run. He just took McNeese to the tourney for goodness sake. Jury is still out with McMahon. But Wade was the whole package. You can't blame fans for being jaded.

I sure the MOTHERFLUCK will be happy, and give him tons of credit. As much as I loved Will Wade, and knew WE NEVER SHOULD HAVE FIRED HIM, I want McMahon to be a billion times better than Wade, because you know why???????
I don't give a MOTHERFLUCK if Charles Manson is our coach, I want LSU to be the best they can possibly be in football and men's basketball, PERIOD!!!
Now, my spidey sense tells me that McMahon ain't a pimple on Wade's arse when talking about how better LSU is under each coach. But I'm BEGGING ole Matt to prove me wrong.

If you are an LSU basketball fan you want him to get it rolling. I want him to get it rolling. He didn't inherit a great situation. No one will, or should dispute that. But as we have seen now, whether a HC is fired because of a NCAA investigation or just because of poor performance, it means the new HC is going to come in with little to no returning roster. That is the same if you are McMahon or John Calipari. LSU or Arkansas. So the excuse of "he needs a while to get this fixed" falls on deaf ears.
The best thing McMahon has done in his 3 offseasons at LSU is recruit. He's signed 6 top 100 players in those 3 seasons, has another one committed now, and may be on the verge of getting another one in Mosley. It's time to start turning that in to on court production.
Wade is revered not because people hate McMahon. It's because he produced at a consistent level that had not been seen at LSU in nearly 3 decades. He took a program that was dead following Jones' last season and, without the benefit of the free transfer rules, turned it into the SEC champ with LSU's best regular season performance and NCAAT seed in nearly 40 years. He followed that by making LSU a perennial NCAAT tournament participant. Again, something that had not been accomplished in 30 years.
The good news for McMahon are expectations aren't even that high. Just getting to the NCAAT would be enough to find support and give people hope he could produce a consistently winning program. But until that happens you'll need to accept the fact that (1) fans won't have belief in McMahon and (2) they will still support the guy who DID produce results. That's not unique to LSU fans. It's human nature.

Wasn’t crazy about the McMahon hire but the team improved from year one to year two and he seems to be recruiting at a fairly high level and has bought in some nice transfers .
I expect year 3 we will see more improvement over year two.

what's your definition of more improvement over year two?

Matt's got some good foundational pieces through recruiting. Really thought that would be the staffs weak points. But honestly it's been really good, also specifically retaining these players has been good.
He's trying to build something just need that one season to get him over the hump.

While not quite "elite", the recruiting hasn't been bad at all. McMahon has routinely been able to sign top 100 players. This commit adds the second of such players to this class, with LSU pushing hard for Chris Cenac (5 star top 10 overall C/PF) and Jalen Reece (4 star, top 100 PG).
Like you said, he's also retained players in an era where that is increasing tough to do. The only signee with strong potential he's lost is Shawn Phillips. Ward, Reed, Chest, Williams are all still on the team. That's somewhat impressive given LSU hasn't been very good and those guys would have certainly had options had they chosen to enter the portal.
Now he MUST produce results from the recruiting efforts.

Yall are so dumb. If he starts to win, the criticism goes away outside of a few crazies that will complain no matter what. The key is winning, its always been the key.

Awesome news. McMahon is recruiting well. Wins will come.
