Heading there soon. Staying in Baixa area. So far have a Sintra/cascais tour and a Fatima tour booked. Any recommendations on restaurants and must do and see?

Ramiro is a must but it gets crowded so plan on waiting for a table.
Frade dos Mares is another good restaurant
Duque Brew Pub is a chill place with tables out on the little pedestrian only street. That street, Duque is the name of it, is lined with cafes and restaurants.
Quimera Brewpub is another cool place with decent food and good beer. Its away from the tourists areas, but walkable from Baixa.

First recommendation is to get in walking shape if you are not. I'd recommend going into Alfama one night with reservations at a small restaurant tucked away somewhere. Before that, walk around through the alleyways close-by until you find Tasca Do Sr. Matos bar.

Taberna da Rua das Flores if you can get a table.
I really enjoyed The Old Pharmacy for port.
Cervejaria Ribadouro

- For Sintra, my advice Palacio da Pena seen from the outside is more than sufficient cool exterior, kitschy/tacky meh interior. Definitely see Regaleira, and then Montserrat which is the crown jewel of Sintra manors IMHO both the house (interior and exterior) and the ground - the garden are absolutely stunning. Nearby is Praia da Ursa, it requires a treacherous descent/hike to reach the beach but it’s well worth it, one of the most gorgeous (if not the) most gorgeous beach I’ve ever seen and I’ve lived in Hawaii, been to the Thai Islands and vacation regularly in the Mediterranean (Greek islands/Mallorca)
- Sesimbra is another nearby seaside town if you want a beach getaway
Eats:
- Ramiro as mentioned, make a reservation, they do shrimp better than anywhere I’ve ever been, forewarning that the drone of mallots cracking claws can be a bit annoying.
- A Cevicheria - chef’s kiss everything here
- Duque - on the aforementioned street (Zappa’s post) they have two locations.
- The Old Pharmacy, they do great Portuguese charcuterie spreads and port wines.
Do see Bairro Alto and Alfama neighborhoods, look for “miradors” (look out points)
Edit: given time of year maybe forgo my beach recs
Also Ubers are piss cheap there so it’s a convenient way to get around both Lisbon and to other towns in the area

I 2nd Taberna Da Rua Das Flores. I have been for lunch a couple of times. Truly one of the excellent, understated meals I've had in Portugal.

Sintra and Pena Palace are pretty awesome. Check out the castle above Lisbon, Belem tower on the coast. Make sure to eat a ton of pastais de nata, they are so good.

Amazing place. Enjoy. Just walk around. It’s beautiful.

The Mozambique restaurant, Catinho do Aziz, is amazing. Inexpensive and very casual. Try a seafood dish called makoufe - feeds 2 easily. There also is a great place that features good food and music from the Cape Verdes Island, Casa Mocambo. You should also look for any small bar that has live fado music. Fado is a genre indigenous to Portugal that traditionally has 2 guitarists, one playing a Portuguese guitar, and a singer who phrases poetry.
We've been to Lisbon twice and will be returning in late Nov. Wonderful city.

We just returned from Lisbon. The Peña Palace was closed due to the threat of grass fires. Be sure to check before heading that way.

I was solo and did my usual "just wing it" routine. Picked a few random restaurants and they were all great.
To me, it just feels like a big town -- very cool place.
If you like modern art, there is a good museum in Belem -- I think it was just a short car ride away (maybe 10 or 15 min?).

I love Lisbon, been there a couple times for longer stays. Not sure how long you're going to be there but here are a few recs off the top of my head, ill skip all the obvious Lisbon/Portuguese things to do. In the Alfama for lunch I like the restaurant Damas. If you have time one evening take the Cacilhas ferry from Cais Do Sodre across the river, walk to Jardim Do Rio for a beverage and to watch the sunset and listen to whoever is playing music. Then on the walk back to the ferry have dinner at Ponto Final. Two of my favorite Miradouros for taking in a sunset and having a drink are Miradouro da Senhora do Monte and Miradouro no Museu da Farmà. If you are there on a Tuesday night looking for something to do after 10pm head over to O'Gilíns Irish Pub for a pints and some live music (its the opposite of Portuguese culture, but its a good time). One street over from the irish pub you can also checkout Pink Street just to say you saw it. There is another bar, club, lounge, not sure what I'd call it, on the overpass that goes over Pink Street called O Bom O Mau e O Vilão that has different stuff going on different nights that is a nice chill spot with good cocktails. Manteigaria makes the best pasteis de nata, and ill fight about it. Speaking of fights I also went to a Sporting CP soccer game (much cheaper than Benfica tickets) and that was a lot of fun. You got me wanting to go back to Lisbon just talking about it. I hope you like walking up hills

Facts!
Try the Belem ones to compare and see for yourself though

It’s insane how cheap Uber is there. It doesn’t make sense

Yeah its great. Bolt is supposed to be even cheaper than Uber, but i never tried it cause Uber was already cheap enough to not download another app.

We used both. Uber was always first option but sometimes it would take too long so we would use bolt.
For the board, we ubered from our place to the airport (took 40 minutes) and it was $12. It’s crazy.
