Do people bring their own silverware to restaurants?

Is it a whisk that one’s willing to take?

Actually, it’s the opposite.

Some people might complain about my drawer of mismatched silverware but it is what it is and works great.

I don't, but I use this analogy all the time when someone is complaining about something being gross that's been washed over and over. You won't do that, but you'll put this fork in your mouth that's been in a thousand other people's mouths? It makes no sense.

We have a guy at the office who has worked with us for 15 years. He has not once used the silverware or drinkware in the break room kitchen. He brings his lunch most days and brings his own utensils. Also will not eat any of the snacks from the break room pantry (it's fully stocked) unless said snacks are individually packaged.

It's a very small office with an industrial dishwasher.

Kind of in topic. I bring my own spoon to the movies.
I like to order a frozen lemonade at the theater. I get one every time. They give me a plastic spoon and it often broke. So I carry my spoon.

My batshit mother-in-law does. Even brings her own glass to family get togethers, complete with siran wrap over the top.

I was in college and had a break. Called up a friend of mine to see if he wanted to meet for lunch. We settled on Copelands on Essen. We're sitting there chatting and in walks ol Jimmy Swaggert and his wife and son. They sit down, order, and whip out their own utensils. Only time I've ever seen it.

I don't do it but I can see why some people do after having worked in kitchens for a while. Have you ever seen the people that wash the dishes in these places? Do you think they scrub the silverware properly between all the tines on the forks and everything? I know what you're thinking: the same people wash the plates too. This is true but its easier to see when the plates aren't clean and they're more likely to not get used if someone sees something on them. The silverware usually gets rolled into the napkins by the servers as part of their side work. If they do their job properly they look at each piece of silverware as they roll them and set aside any that don't look right.
