Spinoff…smells from childhood

I was spraying some cleaner and my wife says, “that smells like vomit”. It dawned on me that it smells exactly like the stuff the janitor would use in school to clean up puke. It looked like blue green cat litter. Weird. Anybody else know what I’m talking about? I’m in my early 50’s.
Otherwise, I distinctly remember the smell of cardboard pencil boxes and Crayons.

The smell of ditto machine coming from the office of the school secretary.
Every worksheet I had until middle school was purple.

The scented markers… I can still smell the cherry and orange.

A mix of diesel, mud and grease.
We called it dad's cologne. Called it Dee-sell.
Many a night working under the heavy equipment
The smell of garlic and onion cooking in a pot.
The smell of animal feed

Minty deliciousness of elementary school paste.

Blockbuster
Great one. Not sure there's any feeling like being a kid on a Friday night when your folks take you to the Blockbuster (or Movie Gallery).
Pick a movie, a game, and some snacks. You have no idea if the game or movie you picked out was worth a shite, but you're fricking amped regardless.

It was almost gone when I started teaching, but the smell from my school years is a glorious memory.

Those mimeograph papers and the peppermint scented paste (before Elmer's glue was a thing) were the best smells from my early school days.

My box was plastic but the mixture of wooden pencils, color pencils, and crayons together definitely had a distinct smell.

The smell of a fresh cut and ready baseball field on game day…that heavy summer air mixed with fresh grass and hints of concession food scents. Hell even now it gets me excited and slightly gives me butterflies lol…the good ole days

In Alabama we got these scratch and sniff stickers from Alabama Gas to recognize the smell. It made quite an impression.

Eh? I thought that can of magic shavings was the universal janitor's vomit tonic.

My aunt’s bath powder. Nothing weird here, she just always smelled like bath powder.
