We gotta switch it up sometimes whatever happen to a fullback blocking for the running back i formation. These coaches to loyal to upperclassmen we have people on the bench that’s better then the starters Caden was an example and they we have more. Sloan is getting paid high dollars to run Shotgun all game smh

you're right.

Running the I-formation will really make us tough to scheme against.

I agree about the predictive formations and play calling but disagree with the playing and being loyal to upper class man. Sometimes it takes a little while for the underclassman to adjust to the college game. Maybe it took a few games for Caden. Now if he continues to do well and is not in there then I would agree with you. They have played tons of freshman this year.

LSU just put up 400 yards against what’s likely the second best front 7 they’ll face all season.

On the road. In an incredible hostile environment.

There are a handful of offenses capable of doing that.

Nuss has to get better against pressure. Lacy has to be more involved. The Oline has to play better.

But you saw Anderson step up, Durham come to the forefront.

I mean, the engine is pretty stankin good right now

Not always. Take the Zavion Thomas motion and handoff on the counter to him. They faked it and it was a beauty of a fake. The WR was wide open deep, Nuss decided to try to hit the shallow receive and missed.

We had more counters and GT pulls this week then we did in the past.

We aren't going to switch to an I formation team, just not the way it goes.

1st qtr yes. 2nd - 4th, besides goal line horse poo, I'd disagree.

The quick outs, motion outs behind Los, 3 yd out offense bs needs to end. Don't need to ease nuss into a damn road game. Think they know that now going forward.

Really really need to figure out inside the 10 offense . Holy hell is it bad.

Also, 3rd and 4th need 1 yd plays are poo poo

The run game is predictable and slow developing. Really a poorly designed run package. Thank god Durham just out-athleted everyone.

Passing game seems ok, but we have to add screens or counters when the defense just pins their ears back every play to get to the QB. How that adjustment wasn't made IMMEDIATELY against USCe is baffling.

do we have a taysom hill type to put at FB? like the saints do?

that is one way how saban outsmarted miles also. saban went to more single back shotgun before miles because saban wanted that extra playmaker and not just a FB blocker.

i will argue we should do more under center at least in ACE formation(single back) it really helps the play action. the 3rd and 1's from the gun are frustrating. but if we go under center you need PA passes from that also to make those runs work later. u cannot just get under center and only run in short yardage. any coach will pick up on it quickly.

yeah if you had a beast O line, beast Rb's that sucked everybody in the box, then you could do like miles did. ran I formation with 1 or 2 WR and killed teams with play action bombs away. again, we do not have those lineman or backs to pull that off. at least not by what we have seen thus far. our line is way overrated.

We’ve been running a shitload of counter all year.

We tried to run a screen to the RB, RB went to the wrong spot (it appeared) and I think we wound up with an intentional grounding penalty.

But you have to do that more than once to make the defense react to it. Same with the jets and screens, even if you’re just using the action to bait the D they’re not going to adjust to it unless you threaten them with it. Once a game isn’t enough.

Their front 4 is good, the rest of their D is below average.

We were 1 yard away from putting up 40+ on the road against a pretty good defense in an extremely hostile environment. Offense is fine. Just needs better execution in a couple spots.

they are second in sacks
14th in TFL
26th in Red Zone conversion rate they have given up 4 TD in 11 Red Zone visits, he ad all 4.

I mean, UGA just gave up more yards and more points to Kentucky. they had less sacks.

It’s obviously really early, but 12 sacks through 3 games is pretty good.

they had 5 sacks in 22 drop backs vs Kentucky.

Running the i-formation could make our offense extremely tough to scheme against. The i-formation is an incredibly powerful play action formation that, with the right personel, be extremely hard to stop. It's a very multiple formation with tons of play options that can be ran out of it.

We do get into patterns, but our ability to score points is a plus. I wish we changed tempo up. It's okay to move quick after a big play to get another chunk, or if we have guys on the field we want to take advantage of. That being said, you can't have silly mistakes when that happens.

Actually Sloan made adjustments to what was going on, The run play on 3rd and 9 that resulted in a 29 yd touchdown is a perfect example. Also running Williams near the goal line when they had passed a lot with him in the game. Fooled the defense. I get this is his first time calling plays and there will be a learning curve but to act like he isn't making adjustments is just wrong.

Biggest problem is the red zone and short yardage because we aren’t creative enough in threatening the D horizontally. Durham should help there but you still need to give them something to think about outside so they can’t just stack it from tackle to tackle in those situations.
