Chuck Todd had the best take right off the bat.

1- Trump didn’t do well, but he’s never done well in debates. They haven’t mattered with him as a candidate. He doesn’t come across very like-able in this format.

2- Harris spent so much time counter punching and trying to get under his skin, she failed to explain who she is and specifics of her policy. Hence, she’s having to ask for another debate.

Trump has “lost” every Presidential debate except the one where Biden couldn’t speak. He’s had one truly horrific debate performance which was the first one against Biden in 2020. Last night was typically how he does.

I didn't think she did all that well and didn't think he was all that bad either. He was also very good early on. The moderators were obviously biased and hopefully persuadeable voters picked up on that.

For undecided voters who were interested in policy, plans and not platitudes, Trump won the night. The facial expressions and mannerisms of Harris didn’t help either,

This is being discounted too. She comes across so unlikable, phony and dumb.

Problem I have is he has no idea how to keep his composure.
For such a smart man he really falls into an ego trap very very easily which frustrates the shite out of me.

Trump is much better at debating Republicans than he is Democrats. Republicans typically debate issues and don't lure him into emotional tirades.

He did just OK.....Harris succeeded in getting under his skin and we got pissed off angry Trump......so that was a win for her......and she came across as more competent than Biden for sure although there is zero substance there......

Trump sucks at debating. It's not his forte. He had a disastrous performance against Biden in the first debate although he did much better in the second.

I think Trump reflected the attitude of the American people hurt by Harris/ Biden. Pissed off.

Harris was disaffected and had the audacity to try and pull the hope/change BS even though she’s the incumbent.

That and he meanders. The question will be about the economy, and he'll start off talking about the economy, drift into how illegal immigration is hurting the economy, bitch about the border, drift into America's crime, then end with how low Venezuela's murder rates are.

Economy -> Venezuela murder rates, all in 2 minutes.

They’ve held the WH 12/16 years. The only change they’re pursuing is a further plunge into chaos

Yes he is correct.
Harris pattern was intentional because her team doesn't want time spent on policies. Just attack his ego, set the trap, and let Trump chase the rabbit.
That way she has to minimally address policy, past or present, and then Trump spends most his time defending himself and doesn't focus on their policies, failures, etc.

He may not be a super debater or orator, but the dude knows how to make moves and get shite done for the people of the country.

That's what I know.

Harris doesn’t care if there’s a second debate or not. She’s “asking” for one as a way to say she kicked his arse once and would love to do it again.
