He just doesn’t have it. We’ve seen what it takes to win natties. Kelly just doesn’t have it.

This board was saying the same about Jay Johnson prior to him actually winning a title, tbh

Grand Valley State (Div II) in 2001 & 2002. Also finished as runner up in 2000. How many have you won, asswipe?

Don’t worry, the rant will pretend that success at a small school has nothing to do with being a good coach bc it’s a small school or something

The irony of this comment is even more true because the OP is apparently a grad & fan of LA Tech. LOLOLOL

The spectrum of comments on tRant is pretty broad. IOW, you can find someone saying just about anything about any coach's prospects. There may have been some saying CJJ wouldn't win a natty but there were others saying CJJ would. Regardless, he (at least temporarily) silenced his critics in 2 swift years.

The best way to shut up the critics is to prove it on the field.

Kelly is a fraud and a loser

Please don’t mention him with JJ and The Queen

He’s probably doing quite a bit better than you to be honest.

Was Grand Valley State in D2 just considered “winning a couple Nattys”

One of those is clearly not like the others.

Just because other LSU coaches won in year three does not mean it always happens that way.

Outside of Les, Coach O and Saban at Bama... these are the coaches who have won first national championships recently.

1. Jimbo in year 4 at Florida State
2. Dabo in year 8 at Clemson
3. Kirby in year 6 at UGA
4. Mack Brown in year 8 at Texas
5. Jim Harbaugh in year 9 at Michigan

All these coaches are "failures" to the rant

We should give JT Curtis a look after Kelly retires. He has been really successful and has a natty. Maybe Rush Propst too.

This is a shallow argument.

Nobody is expecting Kelly to win a Championship in year 3... but we d@mn sure want to see LSU in the race to COMPETE for a championship. Playing at your FULL potential. Making the playoffs! Finishing in the top 10.

The same poster that started this thread was probably saying that.

Speaking of the OP (00 Tech Grad), why does he list his GPA in front of his screen name?
