Did BK misunderstand or not realize the level of expectations here?

Brian Kelly can go kick rocks.

Scott Woodward too for giving such a massive contract to him.

LSU always seems to find a way to frick itself and it is so damn frustrating.

He fully understood. And on the offensive side of the ball he has mostly delivered. The defensive side has been a complete failure. I don’t know if he’s just not interested in that side or what.

Got $10,000,000 guaranteed for 10 years. As with Jimbo why should he care what your expectations are? He is getting paid regardless and you and all your expectation’s buddies can kick rocks. What you going to do fire him??

My only gripe is the ridiculous contract we gave him. Just made no sense to do that. Want to over pay. Fine. But Give any coach these days a 5 year contract max.

No, I think the guy genuinely wants a championship. You can’t say he hasn’t been working hard. As I said above, he has done great on the offensive side IMO. The defense? He gets an F.

Do you honestly think the expectations at Notre Dame aren’t high?

I’m not saying BK can’t/shouldn’t be criticized but come on.

He’s said many times that 10 games isn’t good enough and that he knows we need to win championships. I think he knows.

I know people are frustrated right now and I’m not saying BK is perfect. I think he has his flaws for sure. I wish we played more physical and had a better defense and running game but I’m not sure what coach I’d rather have other than Kirby. To come into the situation BK came into and win ten games and beat Bama immediately is damn impressive.

Who would you rather? I know we lost to USC but do you remember how bad they were last year? Oregon’s coach is another hot name. They’ve looked awful this year, worse than us for sure so far. Freeman and ND have definitely lost to worse teams than Kelly and LSU. No coach is a sure thing and I’m not sure who would’ve been a better hire than BK.

The contract isn’t as crazy as it looks in the current landscape. No coach is leaving ND for LSU without a major guarantee of money

same...if he would have come at a much cheaper price I wouldn't be so against it.

but he's done nothing to deserve that kind of money.

same can be said for players with big NIL deals that haven't produced...cut their asses too (won't happen, but it should)

Special teams have been a hold your breat experience for all 3 years too.
BK is mediocre sec level and would never have accomplished what Miles or even Orgeron did.
The guy made a career off a fraud ND schedule.

I disagree. He won the SEC west his first year and ten games his second year and we have possibly the best recruiting class in school history coming in next year. I’m not happy with how we’ve looked so far this year either but what he’s done so far is not mediocre. Especially considering the situation he walked into.

I really not speaking to BK being a good coach or a bad coach or even was BK the right hire.
Im talking to the stupidity of giving anyone $10,000,000 guaranteed for 10 years. It gives them a safety net to the point they really dont need to care.
It would have been better to give him guaranteed $3,000,000 for 5 years with $750,000 for 10 win season, $1,000,000 for SEC championship, $1,000,000 for get in playoffs and $1,000,000 for winning a national championship.

Getting mad and looking frustrated after every game is not the look of a $10 million SEC coach. What would Sabin do: “we played like sh** and it is my fault, thank you” and walk off.

Give him credit for all that, absolutely.

But… where he has failed so far is:
He completely whiffed on understanding the importance of Louisiana ties within his coaching staff in recruiting. By not retaining Baker and Raymond from O’s staff was a huge mistake. He compounded it by bringing in guys with zero experience and ties to Louisiana. That, along with a revolving door of D-line coaches, set our defensive recruiting back 2 years.

My other beef with Kelly is that he has instilled a culture of less physicality within our program. Say what you will about the stupid mistakes that Miles and O both made, and all are legit, but what they both brought to this program was toughness and physicality. We have lost that under Kelly.

Nobody is prepared for the insanity that is the “rantards.”

Even Saban hated their ilk.

They are the shitstain deposited by the dregs of fandom.
