I know it's cliche to reference Orwell. But it feels like "We have always been at war with Eastasia" from 1984. It's ridiculous. How does Russia affect anyone's day to day life?

It's a boogeyman to distract from domestic policy failures. Muslim countries do the same with Israel and the Soviet Union did the same with the West.

Fun fact: They all loved the old Soviet Union when it was full bore communist and was seeking to spread communism all over the world. I think they are very bitter over what Russia has become. That and the fact that it was her turn.

This Wall Street donor class had a really good run with colluding with Russian oligarchs after the collapse of the USSR and grifting off of cheap Russian resources. In the early 2000s Putin kicked there asses out and they have been bitter ever since.

The libs and the lib echo-chamber didn't care one iota about Putin until the 2014 Sochi winter Olympics, and his crackdown on homo displays and propaganda. He'd earlier halted adoptions of Russian children to America, as this country had started handing them out to gay couples who were found to molest them. But it was that Olympics when the libs suddenly took note and went all nutso about Putin, determining he was the grand super-villain of the world. Before that, they really didn't pay much attention to him.

Because they are the original election deniers and they still believe Russia colluded with Trump to steal the 2016 election. They think Putin and Trump are besties. Therefore, to go along with their obsession with hating Trump, they also obsess over their hatred of Putin/Russia for their "support" of Trump. Russia/Putin is the boogeyman the Deep State, DNC and anti-Trump establishment has created to energize their anti-Trump voter base... and to garner the left's blind support for U.S. war profiteering in Ukraine.
