This seems to be a popular opinion that I agree with. I would take LSU’s roster over USC any day.

I don’t think LSU‘s coaching is as bad as the doomsday crew on this board would want everybody to believe

They didn’t have players that shot themselves in the foot that’s for sure

Disagree.

They were better that day, but I’ll take our staff 10/10 times.

I mean Miller Moss made some wild throws under pressure. I think the line play was pretty equal. They had better WRs

I think the lack of aggression by the OC was by far the biggest coaching failure. You can't play to not lose. He was predictable and played scared.

Total roster, lsu. 1st game of season, with no injuries yet, it's a toss up. They added like 7 new defensive starters with multiple yrs starting at ucla, Oregon st, and some nice pieces like bear and Lucas. They tackled extremely well.

Qb is a toss up, rb them, wr toss up/ maybe them since Hilton and Parker got hurt, te them since they use them better downfield and goal line situations, oline toss up in the game. Pretty even game.

They got us on some screens, we got them on some exotic angle blitzes..

We made all the mistakes didn't get breaks. We didn't get 2 forced fumbles, and dropped an int. We flopped in the red zone a few times as well. 1 yd blocking by our pass catching tes was horrible, losing macway sucks. We had all the dumb penalties. We kicked to their alp American speedster return guy when we have a kid who can clear the end zone each kick. We tripped on 1st kick return when looked like he was gonna house it.

Coaching could have been better with more downfield passing, but chances were there all over for players to execute, they didn't. We have to get by scar and ucla.. who both looked bad in openers, and have 4 weeks to work thru the kinks, and onto ole miss for the upset at home, huge top 5 match up.

LSU's best talents are Fr and Soph.

the Jr's and Sr's are kinda makeshift average by LSU standards

It was bad enough to cost us the game.

well during that game, our offense went too conservative the second half, and our defense gave up two long drives in the 4th quarter to lose the game.

But yea, the coaching was great.

What specific "coaching" cost LSU the game?

Not sure what you are basing that on. They had some pretty good players. In fact the game difference was 3-4 big plays with 2-3 of them being huge catches that were game changers.

Contrast that with Sc putting the ball on the ground twice and three balls batted in the air and we came down with zero. The football gods are just punishing Kelly...

The 3rd down hurry up run was a bad decision. We didn’t run well up the middle most of the game. We had a freshman tight end who didn’t do a great job of blocking. Different personnel or a call there could have made a difference. Not having veteran players understand that they can’t fire a make believe gun or take their helmet off on the field is coaching. Generally conservative play calling when we were up. Going for it on 4th down all come to mind but hindsight is 20/20 I guess.

I mean, not really. Anyone who has kids understands you can tell a kid something until you're blue in the face, doesn't mean they're going to do the right thing every time.

That doesn't mean you're a bad parent.

Yet we're also all bagging on BK for being too aggressive and going for it on 4th down on their first drive. If those things go the other way, we're praising him for it.

You must be high. How about not taking the easy three points. How about whenever nus was 20 for 24 and we were in the lead, we decided to force the run. They were giving us the mid pass all game. And that was just fine because that would have won us the game. Yes coaching cost us the game. Don't be dim
