Girls with borderline personality disorder

Has anyone here ever noticed that girls with borderline personality disorder are always talking about the nice things that they do for others, but the reason they are doing it is to feel good about themselves. They also can’t manage their time to save their lives?

Yes, classic trauma/abandonment/untreated ADHD. Far more common than you think.

I'm a guy and have been diagnosed with it. Like the other poster stated, it's trauma/abandonment issues. It sucks to have, trust me

It’s more the psychotic “I hate you, you stupid piece of shite. How could you do this to me?” screaming after you came home 4 minutes later than you said you would that I would notice. But I suppose what you mentioned are also noticeable characteristics.

Yeah…… you know what they say though….
Grippy socks, grippy box.

It seems like more people than not have psychiatric disorders.
BPD/NPD is like a plague.

This will not get the recognition it deserves.
Bravo.
Laughed hard.

Poor time management and always talking about the good stuff they supposedly do is not in the DSM. I guess you can’t be abandoned if you never show up on time.

I practice medicine in a rural area with very poor psych resources so it falls back to their pcp (aka me). I strongly suspect that social media and technology are making it worse.

Would agree.
People are so caught up in other peoples fake lives that they neglect their own mental health.
Sad.

You’re gonna get the ‘they’re crazy but they’re great in bed’ line probably 10 times in this thread.
I bet two people have already mentioned it

IYAM meds can stablize people so they're not doing something dangerous or out of control. It doesn't fix their problems and psychotherapy rarely helps at all. If people get better, they get better on their own, or they learn to somehow endure their problems. Psychiatry/psychology is mostly pseudoscience.
I have less animosity for psychiatry, because they actually do something that occasionally helps, ie, meds. I have little use for therapists/social workers, etc. They have a little script they go by that if you follow it, you're supposed to get better. If you don't, they don't have any answers.
Source: I've watched someone close to me struggle with mental illness for years.

True, clinical BPD is hell on earth for all involved. I'm not talking about tiktok gen z'ers that say they have it. I'm talking about textbook BPD diagnosed by a professional.
My SiL has it. I wouldn't wish that on any family. You have to understand that people with BPD do not live in the same reality as the rest of us. It's kind of a mindfrick to try to see the world through the eyes of someone with BPD. Your logic and their logic are not the same.
