The “hurry up” short yardage attempt on 3rd down was cringe worthy.

Reminded me of Ed O pighead trying that unsuccessfully game after game. Have we ever made a first down with the hurry up approach?

I think Frazier completely whiffed on his block on that play.

That only works if you’re playing ncaa 25 with Bama and Ohio state. Lol

IDK what LSU was doing but they telegraphed the run all night long and USC knew when to run blitz with an extra defender.

It seemed like we were being rushed, not the defense

Couldn’t even get lined up and telegraphed INSIDE ZONE to the defense. Which they promptly blitzed and stuffed. So bad

I HATED that sequence

There was zero need to go fast

It was a long one yard

Spread them out and run if you want to run

PA to a short pass

Anything but that stupid shite.

Yes, I commented at the time Nuss should have checked out of that play or called a TO. Poor play call but Nuss shoulders some of the blame too

nope. The tempo plus the formation telegraphed the play, and USC was ready. Not the players fault when the play call is that bad.

If Sloan was smart enough to run that play, but instead call for Nuss to pull it and run a bootleg to the right, Nuss could've walked his way for 10 yards.

What ever happened to going under center in short yardage & goal line situations? Jumbo packages? This new age shotgun/pistol formation in shortage is arse!!!!

There were a few time Nuss could have tucked and ran, but he is not JD, and the coaches are much more aware of his abilities than any of us on a forum.

It works all the time on 2nd down or a 1st down after a big play but 3rd and 2-3 in that spot was a fricking bone head move especially considering we didn’t vary the play.. no true read, no rpo or PA on any of them

I think there is a huge abundance of caution with taking chances that could get Nuss hurt. We aren't ready for the backup at all. So you likely won't see him taking any chances due to the repercussions of an injury.

The tackle on the second down play happened right in front of me. They should have looked at the spot. Not certain he got it but it sure as hell wasn’t the full yard short they marked it. Instead we did that hurry up crap with short bus execution. Look at the spot. Might get lucky. Either way have time to set up ur next play. Just one of many things the staff fricked up last night.
