Billy Strings for me but I'd love to see some arguments.

***disclaimer not the best***
I don't do best guitarist. There are way too many variables with one being which day it happens to be.
That being said this guy is a guitarist's guitarist and top shelf good.

David Gilmour would be up at the top for me. Joe Bonamassa is not too shabby. Billy Strings. Too many to pick just one I guess.

Buckethead for me. He can shred and has a very unique style. He's known for the shred, but can also belt out emotional pieces like Sail On Soothsayer and Earth Heals Herself.

Sonny Landreth
"Eric Clapton has said that Landreth is one of the most advanced guitarists in the world and one of the most under-appreciated."

I'm guessing by best, you mean our favorite because theres really no metric to determine who's the best guitar player on the planet. Technically, it's probably some shredder, but playing a billion notes per minute does nothing for me. Gilmour is probably my favorite along with someone like Chris Buck.

I started to type a name, but I changed my mind before I finished typing it, so I started editing but I changed my mind again...guess I've something to think about today.

Totally subjective and impossible to name, but I’ll throw Nels Cline into the mix.

Here’s a couple of contenders.
Tommy Emmanuel and Kenny Vaughn

Mr. Fret Shack posted this a while back.
Richard Smith.
Heh. Just a simple little ditty.

You can’t go wrong voting for Derek Trucks.

Yeah, That's real playing right there. Pretty damn incredible honestly.
It's a hell of a feat, just to remember all of it, much less play it that flawlessly.
