Here’s what I’ve learned from 3 women close to me over the past 2 elections: my wife and 2 sister-in-laws.

Two of these women are lawyers and one is an ER doctor, and as educated white women who want 1) fiscal responsibility but 2) social liberalism, they are statistically part of the largest group of undecided voters in this election.

The number one issue that keeps them from fully embracing the GOP is their immovable stance on abortion, but not for the reasons you might suspect. Neither of these women has ever had an abortion, and neither would personally have one themselves nor support a close family member having one.

But they see the issue not necessarily as one of a decision to have an abortion or not, but as a politician making a choice for them that they feel should be their’s to make, whatever that choice may be.

I personally fail to see how involving the government in a healthcare decision like abortion is any different from forcing vaccines on people (which these women, especially the ER physician, did not support). Regardless, the GOP should stop dragging themselves down with this issue for political reasons.

The last 4 years have been abysmal under Biden/Harris. The Republican Party should be embracing these voters.

But the fact the race is as close as it is, and that educated white women are likely going to decide this election, is proof the GOP is in the Stone Age while the democrats are taking advantage.

So they are gonna vote for the party that forced vaccines?

Where is that the case? It is absolutely not at the top of the ticket.

Because none of the swing states have "immovable" abortion policies.

Its a State issue, period.

Anyone, female or not, that is voting based on whether they think a national abortion ban is in the cards is a fricking moron. It would never pass Congress, and would be struck down under Dobbs regardless. The women you reference are, disrespectfully, incredibly stupid people.

Nobody here is going to like your post but you’re 1 billion percent correct on this. Abortion is an issue we need to forget about and call it “non-political”. Like the decision to raise your kid with spankings or soft discipline. Let the democrats show their crazy on abortion and the rest will flock to our side.

The GOP just can’t help but to step in its own shite every cycle with the abortion issue.

They should be ashamed of themselves.

Imagine being so stupid that the biggest issue for your vote is whether you're legally allowed to rip a baby to pieces.

Honestly, Trump is as pro-abortion as the Republican party is going to get (at least for the foreseeable future).

Abortion isn't a federal issue. Only very stupid people think that it is, on either side.

Again, emphasis on very, very stupid people.

Socially, the abortion issue is a major loser but many bury their head in the hand and will die in that hill.

Hopefully we just can just leave it as it is currently: up to the individual states, and just never fricking talk about it on a national/federal level again.

Personally I’m pro abortion for all leftist.

I don’t think any of them should reproduce. I think we should force leftists to have abortions.

They're more likely to not vote at all, and so are millions of voters like them.

But instead of asking that question, you should be asking “why don’t they fully embrace the GOP?”

These women are thoroughly indoctrinated and would need extreme deprogramming which still may not help them.

The issue of abortion isn’t necessarily only about killing a growing fetus. It’s about the IVF issue.

You can’t sit back and call every woman who is dying to become a mother and spending thousands upon thousands of dollars to do so a fricking sinner and baby killer then expect these women to happily vote for you.

Never, ever get between a woman and her unyielding natural biological desire to be a mother. She will side against you every single time. My sister is one of these women and is almost as conservative as most of this board but she has a hard time voting for republicans for this reason alone. I think it’s dumb that she lets one issue sway her but it is what it is.

There’s a big difference between spanking kids and murdering them.

Really? Is it that hard to understand? Those that oppose abortion believe that it is literally murder. You might not agree but surely you can see the logical conclusion formed from that premise.

Completely agree and it's an easy thing to talk about, particularly at the federal level. It is no longer a federal issue. If they want to vote with abortion on the mind, remind them that the presidency no longer has any impact on that at all. Save that passion for your local and statewide representatives.

I have no idea why the Republican party hasn't taken this stance. It is a major issue for women who desperately want to get dicked without the ick of being a mother. We can debate the silliness of that position, but it is incredibly wide spread. Women would rather usher in Marxism. It's absurd.

I know that but if the gop wants to be successful, they’ll get off their high horse and drop it as a political issue.

I accept it.

I can still be disgusted at the millions of whores who forego common fricking sense on every day situations to vote solely based on the fact they can rip another human being to pieces because they'd prefer not to frick with contraceptives.
