Friday Night Lights - Minka Kelly

I've never watched FNL until about two weeks ago. I'd only known Minka Kelly as an adult model/married to MLB player, etc.
Her overly childish voice and mannerisms are really off-putting. I had to look up how old she was when this was filmed, and it seems like she was in her mid 20s (slightly older than me at the time.) Minka makes me think of Japanese soap bar hostesses, a 25 year old using affectations of a school girl, it's just weird. Add on to she's banged a bunch of dudes while still speaking baby girl, Dr. Drew would have, some, uh, suggestions.
Anyone else weirded out by that? Out of the entire cast, she's the most over-acted or incompetent, with significant ick.

Since you're too thick to understand, I spent plenty of time thinking she was hot as the parking lot at 2PM in Austin in July. Watching her act like a 14 year old, when she was in her mid 20s is ick. Not sure how that escaped you three. Even the lesbian freshman chick doesn't give off that vibe. Nobody else on the show does that.
Or maybe out in the Parish you guys like that. Lot of college bros dating sophomore high school chicks the norm and get turned on by being called daddy?

I remembered her as that hot cheerleader chick so I googled what she's been up to.
Essentially nothing. She's 44, never been married, no kids.
She chose a C-list actress "career" it would seem. Kinda sad.

You do know that younger adults are casted as high schoolers all the time right? Studios don’t have to worry about labor laws, parents, or school if it’s an adult.

I mean...isn't she a sophomore or something in season 1? It sounds like your main issue is that the casting deparmtnet should've picked someone younger instead?
Regardless of her age, she was hired to act the part of a young HS teenager. It seems odd to find that offputting when that's literally the job.

For sure. What drove me nuts is she said the person she's talking to name every sentence. "O come on Jason. What do you want Jason? Why are you being that way Jason? You're a jerk Tim. Tim why are you this way? I am sick of this Tim." Add that with the whiny voice, yeah.
Probably the only thing that annoyed me with the show. Odd, but just really annoying.
