Time to replace all the old windows on our home.
Recommendations welcome.
We got an estimate from Window World last weekend. Looking for at least 2 more quotes.

We bought a house 2 years ago that had the majority of the windows replaced with Pella windows. From the paperwork I recieved from seller, they replaced them around 2017. One window's seal is giving out and starting to fog.
I am about to test the warranty as it is 20 years.

You guys go metal or vinyl?

We were happy with the price, quality and service from Relief. They may be the only contractor that did exactly what they said they were going to do on time.
I've had a seal fail and they came out and replaced the glass in 5 minutes for free.

Be careful with Window World. All of their installation crews are not equal. Some are butchers others are skilled.

Was there a price difference between metal and vinyl?

Installation is the most important factor

Relief Windows
Vinyl
dont look back.
as mentioned above, customer service is great.
We put new windows in before the flood of 2016.
Relief came out and replaced all the hardware that went underwater (we got 42" in the house)
One of the double paned windows was starting to fog up. sent them a photo of it, the model/SN, and they replaced it within a few weeks no charge
Dog jumped up on my outside screen once and ripped it and they came out and re-rolled it for me in 5 min no charge
pretty sure the salesman will do the lightbulb test showing the increased efficiency of their windows vs your current

Vinyl was cheaper. Better insulating and color choice

I find that some of the vinyl ones look very cheaply made, rough edges and such. I am sure some are nicer. Which ones will last longer, warp less in direct sun?

Tommy's Windows.
Did all the windows in my house a few years ago. They use the exact same windows as relief, for less $.

I have not replaced my windows, but several of my friends used Relief Windows and they were all very happy. Come October we are starting the same process with Relief, Win World, and Pella with my default set for Relief.

Update - I sent them a picture and they responded they would replace the glass. I have to pay the $89 labor fee.

Got relief to replace mine. Quality craftsmanship. Talked to numerous people that used them all satisfied they stand behind their products.

Pella, hands down the best IMO.
Not cheap though.
