People who work for Uber using a vehicle costing them $300 a month and insurance costing them $250. Everywhere I go I see Uber workers getting food or Uber drivers on the road. Wearing down their own vehicles and paying for their own gas to make a few dollars per job. This type of living isn’t sustainable for a country and everyday more and more people seem to be forced to do it. Can you imagine what real unemployment numbers would be if these gig jobs that offer 0 benefits were removed.

Uh, no. Why are they "forced" to do it?

How many of these people do it full-time rather than as a side gig?

Not many, I would think. Pretty tits that someone who needs a few extra bucks has a very easy way to do so, if you ask me.

Because most people can’t survive off one job anymore

I enjoyed a pleasant Uber ride the other night in a Tesla. Guy seemed happy, I was happy. What’s the matter?

I made pretty good money doing uber on the weekends when I was back in school. Of course I was using a vehicle that was 10 years old I paid cash for. A home LSU game weekend could get me $1k on Friday and Saturday.

I do it from time to time. I wish I had more time to do it. The only downfall is that SO MANY people are doing it that Uber and Doordash etc are cutting back on the pay these gig workers get. Essentially nickle and diming them. I feel sorry for the ones that truly need the money because they're the ones that are having to work more. Me, if I'm not making the amount of money I want, I'll pack it in. I didn't do it at all, didn't think about doing it for 4 months.

I remember radio host Chuck Harder saying "We can't be a great nation by doing each other's laundry".

I got news for you. Everybody wants a job with benefits and retirement. That’s a trap if you are a go getter. Nobody gets rich working for someone else.

I’ve got a coworker that must be making around 150k a year that drives Uber in his free time.

An especially good deal when you consider all barriers to entrance of the traditional cab driver setup.

I did it for amusement on the weekends before I started my business. It was fun doing it on the weekends in a beach town. One of my customers is in his 70s and has a net worth north of 25 mil. Dude where’s jorts, new balance and a Pfg shirt and drives for Uber out of boredom around Panama City and 30a

I drive Uber only to satisfy my stalking fetish. I don't feel forced at all.

Besides, they leave behind all kinds of cool shite: empty bottles, books, fingers, little packs of tissue, n-95 masks

Hmmm...I still have the Jeep I delivered pizzas in back in the late 90s, it runs pretty damn good, in fact. At 27 years old and $19,500 purchase price, Id say it worked out well for me. Hell, I can sell it for $10,000.
