Too many choices for me and all the reviews read kinda the same.
Who’s using what and why? Bose, Techniques, Sony, Beats?
If I’m gonna spend >$200 I want them to perform. Tks

I got the Pixel Bud Pros after having the lower version. I'm plenty happy with the noise cancelling and sound but I also got them for $130 so my expectations are relatively low compared to anything in your price range.

TBH, I think the sweet spot is about what you got.
I have too many headphones/earbuds and I've spend anywhere from $30 to $300 on them. IMO, the diminishing returns on sound kicks in pretty hard around the $100 mark. After that it's mostly about features and comfort.

Depends on what you value. I use AirPod Pros because I use them for work and calls and I think they have the best microphone. If you don't care about that and want the highest quality noise cancelation for example, there might be better options. I would watch some review videos on YouTube.

To me, it really comes down to what phone you have, which seems silly. If you have a new'ish iphone 11 or newer, the best are AirPod pros. There's a slew of reasons but those are just the best non-wired headphones.
If you have a pixel or android, there's a bunch but there's new pixel buds coming out within the next month that are supposed to be good. There's a ton of other alternatives like Beats and Sony's and jaybirds.
It's really down to:
-Do you want over the ear headphones?
-Do you want wired or wireless headphones that are in ear?
-Do you need noise cancellation?
-Do you own a phone where they make specific headphones that are more "intertwined" with that phone?

How would you describe the step up from the A-Series to the Pros? I got the A-Series for free when I got my phone several years ago and I've contemplated upgrading to the pros for the last year.

Airpod Pros is you use an iPhone.
Sony WF1000XM5 if you use anything else.
Sony has slightly better drive and music quality. Pros are slightly better for calls.
Biggest difference is interface with Apple products and ease of use if that's what you have.

The noise cancelling is really nice. Fitment is solid. Sound is solid. Overall they're a big step up from the A-Series and I think well worth the $130. Wouldn't pay $190 though

Yeah I think this is about right. I have them both. I have some M+D and B&O and other high end buds but I don't think they're worth it over these.
The Bose Opens are really cool for very limited use cases (I actually use them a lot more than I expected). For most things I reach for the APPs because I can take a call on them.
Edited to add, Jabra Elite 8s are actually pretty impressive too. I was using those before I switched to open/bone conduction for running.

Samsung - Galaxy Buds2 Pro True Wireless, i have had these for a little over a year and use them for everything. The sound is very good and the noise cancelling works well.

Being a Denon AVR owner, I get regular emails regarding their many products......one of which is the ear buds. Any opinion on the Denon wireless ear buds?

While the sound on the Sonys is impressive, a firmware update completely ruined the battery life on the XM4’s once they get to about 2 years old. It’s to the point where Sony has had to replace them for many out of warranty. The XM5 isn’t that much different from the XM4 so there’s a concern the XM5s will run into the same issue as they age.
