Blows my mind as well.

And , yes, I understand there are high earners, but only like 5% of Louisiana households make more than $200k; 23% make more than $100k

And yes - the $1000 payments- but they must be paying them.. how?

I don’t get it either. We make a decent HH income and I feel like we never have money for anything.

shite we bring home over 200k, have no car payments, and with 3 kids I'm like, "where'd the money go"

We started sending our kids to public school so my wife could get the new Grand Wagoneer.

That's what I don't get. I watch my money pretty strictly. My wife and I may not be in the top 5%, but we would be in the top 10% most likely. We aren't "struggling" most of the time, but we have had some rough times. Neither of us could or would even try to afford a $1K car note. People must be leveraged on credit up to their eyeballs, at least that's what I assume.

You’re talking to the same board that buys their ole’ lady a new Navigator in cash but balks at chicken tender prices

Thank goodness I’m not alone. But we have paid half the tuition for the year and gone one two trips since February. So I know where mine goes.

Where are y’all?

I see a bunch of cheaper suvs and a shite load of beaters.

Every once in a while I’ll see a Tesla in town.

But it’s usually someone with a bumper hanging on or have one of their lights out.

shite my parents both drive a Hyundai.

I planned everything to a "T" as far as cold cash my house to save on the mortgage, reserves to keep healthcare low and then GI helps. Holy shite the car prices are so insane that nobody should be paying that ever.

I do but it isn't so hard when everything else is paid off. Spending my kid's inheritance is pretty easy.

This was several months ago but there is this dude I know of who has a new Silverado HD who bought a new house within the past year and a half.. Dude is always decked out in ralph lauren clothes.. Anyway, evidently he was at his kids (3 kids) school begging for away to pay less every month (i thought people pay by the year?)..

You can't go somewhere with relatively expensive close on in your new $80k truck and beg your kids school to work out away you can pay less and expect them to come to some agreement,

I’ve been buying nice cars and trucks for a long time so I usually have a good trade and put money down so my payments are not bad.

I think my 2022 F250 payment was like $300 a month for 60 months but I paid it off in 5 months.
