Dateline Nola. Work early in the morning, kids going back to school in the morning, heat advisory in effect.

Power goes out at 9:15 PM for no apparent reason and Entergy starts sending falsely optimistic restoration times. Stated cause is heat (it's August). Now it looks like we'll be without power most of the night when originally 11 PM was supposed to be the restore time.

If they couldn't keep the power on during the Super Bowl with tens of millions watching, why would they care about their average rate payers? I'm looking into legal action. I'm sick of this sorry excuse for a utility.

Laugh if you want. The assessor tried to screw me so I took him up the appellate ladder and won in the end. Entergy is a different animal and admittedly I will need some help, but this is right in my wheelhouse. Tens of thousands know that this utility is grossly incompetent, from their own personal experiences running flashlights and generators when the sun is shining on an otherwise nice day.

The problem with this country is that the middle class just sits back and allows itself to get screwed, largely because they are too busy waking up every day working for their families. I don't blame them, but at some point it's time to...

Fight.

OK…
So you win a suit.

Then what? City Council regulates ENO and sets rates. Zero sum game.
Broke arse NOLA ratepayers would be on the hook and Council wouldn’t approve the payment anyway….

So then what?

ENTERGY New Orleans goes bankrupt?

Might feel good for a moral victory, but you wouldn’t get a dime and they wouldn’t fix a damn thing or invest another cent.

Unless Mitch diverts a few billion of infrastructure money from his pockets to Entergy NOLA, it’s a downward spiral.

Don’t waste the time or legal expertise.

You have a better chance of winning the Powerball than successfully suing Entergy even if you have a judge that has Entergy Power at home and 12 members of a jury that have Entergy and know about their suckiness.

Laughable

We sued Disney. 12 lawyers walk in. Attempt to intimidate us. Young hot shot with one job to do…..measure us. Hot shot says “You are not big enough to take us on.” To this day I wonder if he was cleaning his office several hours later.

He had pulled the D&B from the US. He thought they were bigger.

We were a British firm….eight times larger than Disney.

They wrote the check and settled for seven million.

Have fun battling a Coporate giant for a mere inconvenience.

There’s not an attorney out there that will take your silly case, because the lights went out and you got hot.

Buy a beer and sulk.

I don’t think you know how estimated time to repair times work.

This thread is classic OT.

The OT: we’ve gotta stop taking this shite from politicians and fight back!

Here comes a baw who is fed up and wants to fight.

The OT: don’t waste your time! Just sit here and whine like we do!

Entergy is not a politician...

guess he should sue Lowe's if his washing machine is not delivered within that 4 hour delivery window, or Cox if his cable isn't fixed in that 4 hour window, too....
