Is Beverly Hills worth seeing?

Or is it completely overrated? Is it really all that luxurious there or does it have slums too?

Any big city has slums; google earth is cheaper

What is there to do there.

If you are already in the area it is cool to spend a day in BH. You can see all of the famous spots in a few hours.
Drive into the hills and see the palm trees and nice houses.
California is awesome. Don't let the simpletons here who have never been further than Gulf Shores tell you otherwise.

Malibu is worth checking out.

If you’re in the area, take a tour. I’ve been on many. BH, Hollywood, Malibu. All interesting. Not anywhere I’d care to live.

Stay away.

I could be wrong, but don't think Beverly Hills proper has anything that would be deemed a "slum."
It's not exactly a "big city" in and of itself, though.

Of course it does.

I was very underwhelmed by what I was seeing. Maybe I was just living in fantasy land about what it actually was. But was worth the one day I spent there between Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica.
Do the Hop on and Hop Off tour bus if you can.

If I were filthy rich enough to not care about COL rural California would be towards the top of my list of places I'd want to live.

When I was a kid I thought it was cool.
Now, I'm not so sure. I can see sprawling estates anywhere, ultra high end boutiques and the like are likewise more common elsewhere, celebrities are less confined to LA, etc.
I'm just not sure there is any universal interest in BH like there was coming out of the 90201/Planet Hollywood/etc. generations.

It isn't particularly great. It would not be anywhere my top destinations in the LA area. I try to avoid Beverly Hills and Hollywood like the plague when in LA.

Unlikely to see celebrities there?

Driving through the hills (any of them, not specifically BH) is always a fun way to kill time between meetings out there. If you’re going into the heart of Beverly Hills, maybe grab a bite at The Hideaway.
You’ll also notice pretty much everyone there is Persian. The only white people are agents and execs.

Drive up the coast and check out Hearst Castle instead. Stop in SLO for a day.

If you go to rodeo drive, you can listen to apparently wealthy guys rev their cars engines up
